I cant argue with my friends point

A friend and I were discussing todays politics. One of the subjects was why it seems so many young people hate the United States.

His answer was blame teachers and college professors. I could not argue with that!!! Today's young simply have been brain washed by radical left wing teachers and professors!!!

How does taking America to task for the horrible things it has done and continues to do “hating America”?

It’s weird how the Right consistently hates education. It’s almost as if reality itself has a liberal bias and when people learn more about the world, they are less likely to hold the ignorance-based beliefs of conservatism.

Define "horrible things"!!!!

Slavery was set aside 160 years ago. The only other horrible thing I can think of is abortion. But the democrats wont vote against it!!!!
 
Teachers and profs have always been a little left-leaning. My high school history teacher, 1960, wore a ban the bomb button on his sport jacket every day at school.

Jim Crow still existed when my dad was in school. It’s interesting that the only horrible things you can think of are slavery and abortion.

I guess the white supremacy embodied by Jim Crow and segregation was good in your mind. Not surprising.

So you oppose the conservative politics taught to students in private conservative colleges? How about the conservative politics taught in conservative churches?

Even such a small thing as that should NOT be tolerated in today's schools and colleges!!!!

BTW The two bombs dropped on Japan probably saved my brothers life. He was a sailor in WWII!!!!!

Reality isn't 'liberal' or 'conservative'. Each doctrine has good elements that are beneficial for survival of any society. Liberal values typically fall into the category of 'for the other, or for the community at large', and conservative values typically fall into the realm of 'for the individual, or individual right'. You cannot have one succeed without the other. Typically, I think that liberalism is more of an ideal, but is very difficult to realize in practice, and conservatism only seems more reasonable as one ages, becomes a bit more pragmatic about situations and understands that liberalism cannot stand on it's own without the idea of the individual. Like a blended family, they must stay together but will rarely get along ;)

The conservative leaders are all college educated and do everything they can to prevent their followers from being educated. I wonder why

Education requires an open mind which is literally liberal and antithetical to strict conservatism. Hence the inherent liberal bias in education as far as requiring an open mind and what is commonly known as a liberal education, rather than one what could be called a "conservative" education, being a limited one for a limited mind.

Most private schools and colleges teach God, family, country, and the Constitution. Is that wrong?

That’s conservative politics. You say you oppose teachers teaching their politics to students, but then you give a special exception for conservative politics.
