Not wearing a mask shows you have no respect or consideration for the well-being of others around you. And yes, that's deplorable. Why do you think rates of infection and death are falling through the floor in Europe? I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is...it's been known for quite some time that wearing a mask is for times when you cannot maintain social distancing. However, droplets from a cough on an unmasked person can travel up to 8', so it may be best to widen that distance.

What is a "community setting"?

I don't think many people are saying to wear a mask when you can maintain the proper distance from others. For instance, when I go to a retail store, I try to maintain the proper distance from others, but it is almost impossible to do it at all times. You may pass by someone in an aisle or even walking in other parts of the store. All it takes is one cough or sneeze and you can be infected.
 
That's what I say. No mask. Just stay the F away from me. Simple
