“Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders ... and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities,” he added.

Actually, when I think of "our founders", I think of men like George Washington and the men that sacrificed their lives to liberated colonists from England; forming the United States of America.

But, protesters are tearing down statues of men that wanted to dismantle the sacrifices of men like George Washington. Confederates that killed men and women of the United States of America.

Don't get me wrong, I know the Civil war was a very complicated issue. Confedarates sincerely believed in their cause. But, it doesn't change the fact that they took to violence.

I mean, would current Americans celebrate if a faction of Americans went to a military war against our nation. Military attacks over say: their wanting illegal immigrants to work for them, free passage through trump's wall for cheap wages.

The pro- illegal Generals lead a war that causes a large amount of deaths and injury to Americans.

Would we build statues of the above Generals?

Trump was referring to current protesters who, as part of a national uprising for racial justice, have defaced and removed Confederate monuments and symbols

Trump himself has been accused of destroying multiple national monuments including Utah’s Bears Ears, which is considered sacred by several Native American tribes

There are a few examples of uneducated criminals taking down, or threatening to take down, statues of the founders.

The radical right wing media and trump are doing there best to change the narrative from Confederate soldiers to violence against "all of our history".

Of course, this is to distract from their support of the traitors, racists, and losers who fought against the United States and lost.

Unfortunately, criminals made this an easy distraction.

Trump has no noted accomplishments during the past four years (besides golfing more than any other past president).

And he has presented no policy platform for what he would try to accomplish during a second term in office.

So he is running on a platform of divisiveness, specifically racial divisiveness. This is principally an appeal to his white nationalist base.

To your first question. Yes, I support the position Confederates took at that time. In full disclosure, my Great-Great Grandfather fought in the 49th Tennessee Infantry Regiment. That fact I'm proud of.

As for your comment about no founding father statues being impacted. Look up what they did to Thomas Jeffersons statue in Portland

Americans against our slavery history should honor debate and peaceful means with regards to the statues and their display
