It does seem odd to me that someone who claims to know "so much" about history displays such ignorance of it on this forum. As I noted, Jefferson was the original "Democrat", although the party started as the "Democratic-Republicans" and dropped that appellation when the Whigs broke off in 1830 - who were themselves then originally known as the "National-Republican party". Nor does he seem to acknowledge the radical shift in alignment of the Democratic and Republican parties that emerged in the 1960s as a result of the Civil Rights Acts, when the Dixiecrat wing of the Democratic party defected en masse to the Republicans, taking the racists with them. He pretends that the "racists" are Democrats because he knows better but doesn't want to admit his level of self-loathing.

My son is careful but pocketed a fast $71,000 in May from the stock market. She wants to hold cash that earns about 1 percent? And brags about it too.
