Not one Democrat is on Mt. Rushmore

No one votes based on what Presidents did 100 or 150 years ago. If they did, African Americans would still support the Republican Party. And KKK white supremacist racists would still support the Democratic Party, instead of the Republican Party.

This simple fact seems to always escape them. "Durr, the Democrats supported slavery!"

Funny thing though. Ask your average Republican if the Civil War was fought so Abe could free slaves, and they begin to hedge, usually saying Lincoln overreached his grasp and the war was a matter of "states' rights."

You spend a lot of time with average Republicans asking that question?

People join the Republican Party because of it's proud history and policies. What motivates anyone to become a Democrat?

Lots of things, but nothing that you care about. FDR's New Deal. Kennedy and LBJ supporting the civil rights movement in the 1960s. The Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Voting Rights Act of 1965. LBJ's Great Society programs, which significantly lowered poverty in this country. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid.

All of this is much more recent and meaningful than anything Republicans have done in the past 100 years.

Yeah, these racists like to proudly claim that Lincoln was a Republican, but they don't actually agree with a damn thing that he stood for. Hypocrites, all of them.

FDR prolonged the Great Depression, got America into WWII and gave away Eastern Europe to 'Uncle' Joe Stalin, thereby precipitating the Cold War and the deaths of tens of millions.

LBJ created dependency programs for Black Americans (much like FDR) and assisted in destroying Black families through his 'Great Society' welfare programs.. Do you believe he ended poverty and eliminated racial injustice?

Your comments about FDR are simply idiotic and show no knowledge of history.

LBJ lowered poverty. Look it up. It's called "facts". I could care less about your worthless Repug opinions.

And your focus on "black families" shows deep-seated racism, which is why you support Trump. The Great Society programs helped millions of poor white people as well.

One other thing....since Democrats haven't done anything meaningful, please feel free to give up your Medicare and Social Security. Which is 100 times more meaningful and significant than ANYTHING Repugs have done in the past 100 years.

These stupid Repug talking points are so tiresome, so vapid. Come up with some new material and learn how to debate.

For those who want to pretend that the Rushmore guys are all pure as the driven snow.

Washington owned slaves

Jefferson impregnated them

Abe hung Indians, en masse

Teddy once said, "I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are the dead Indians, but I believe nine out of every 10 are."

Theodore Roosevelt: ‘The Only Good Indians Are the Dead Indians’

Theodore Roosevelt: ‘The Only Good Indians Are the Dead Indians’

Roosevelt felt the way 80% of the population in that era felt about Indians.

No responsible lawyer would ever include you in a jury to judge these matters.

Perfectly understand what you're saying, but I would advise against putting Republican or Democrat labels next to any Anti-Federalist/Democrat-Republicans. Jefferson would be a modern day libertarian, and believes that government that governs the least, is the best. I highly doubt any modern day Democrat would identify with Andrew Jackson or the early pathetic Democratic Presidents (sans Polk), who basically allowed South Carolina to secede from the union and supported allowing slave owners to go to other states to find their missing slaves.

Agree with you except for the observation about Jefferson. I think Jefferson's instincts/quality of mind may have brought him to a broader outlook on the purposes of government in contemporary America.

That is totally correct Fred Dobbs.

Medicare would be far better if it did not shaft the doctors and hospitals.

Were you to shaft your doctor the same way, you no longer would be his or her patient.

I don's proudly proclaim Abe was a Republican nor do you proudly proclaim he was one.

I'm pretty sure adding Andrew Jackson to Rushmore would result in a lot of people being "triggered" to even more madness than they are currently experiencing.

How about an ex Democrat who became a Republican? Ronald Reagan.

"I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me" - Ronald Reagan

Agreed. I want Reagan on Mt. Rushmore.

Since there is this democrat tale told the parties switched. were the KKK to have switched that also applies to that claim.

As it is, compared to Democrats, the KKK is a fart in the wind.

I departed the Democrats when Carter was president Fred. I display my avatar that truly explains why. This book is close to me at the moment. I still read it.

Irrelevant. It's still better than the alternative, which is nothing. Which is what Repugs prefer.

This further supports my point that Republican presidents have accomplished nothing remotely as significant as Social Security and Medicare in the past 100 years. These were all Democratic Party initiatives.

By the way, please tell me when your Nazi Repug Party is going to come up with a better health care plan than Obamacare. They've only had 10 ****ing years to come with something now.
