D.C. Sued over Black Lives Matter Painted on City Streets

No one is above the law.

Like it??

Sound familiar?

Yes, their work on holding Trump accountable for his corruption is... non-existent. So much for that moniker.

Because it's all the right has in order to get their knuckle-dragging base to salivate these days. They don't have any message except, "Democrats bad".

I know the truth hurts, my friend. You're just going to have to deal with it.
The message has nothing about race in it

Aw, you just love it when braindead Democrats repeat it 50 times a day.

The message was the Democrats' mantra for years!

Judicial Watch has announced that the message they want to paint is their motto, "No One Is Above The Law".

Sounds good to me.

You got it! Goose, gander.
Let's rename some more streets!
This is exactly what the right should be doing.
Start pulling down FDR statues, get MLK removed from being a federal holiday, remove teaching avout Susan B Anthony from the schools, rename streets, everytime the left takes something the right should take something too.

Its in the op

“Because No One is Above the Law,”

Ironic since no one has flipped the bird at the law more than Republicans over the past 5 years.

Problem is, we're not marxists and we're not animals like the leftist thugs. But I wouldn't disagree with reciprocating the m.o.

Ironic or not, the mayor is in a difficult position

Why not? BLM does not own the street their message is on

It's a political message. Equal time for all.

We saw a lot of people flipping the bird at the law last month. Arson, theft, assault and murder mostly....all supposedly in the name of "justice".

If they paint 'No one is above the law' at 1600 Penn Ave NW I'm 1000% on board... :peace
For different reasons than yours I think that would be a great place to put it

I agree with Judicial Watch. They should have the right for the head of Judicial Watch to have his neck knelt on for eight minutes, killing him, and for the organization to then get to paint a message on the road about it.

Ooooh, a racist right-wing activist organization has a problem with black people - stop the presses!

Gotta love the programmed regurgitation of meaningless and meritless statements.

The death of George Floyd is not a justifiable means for the mayor of DC to deny the request. The mayor made the decision to turn the street into public expression forum to garner political points (including the authorization of 2 separate messages). Judicial Watch (and my guess is more to come) is seeking equal access and the mayor has painted (pun intended) herself in the corner, and Judicial Watch will match the color and font and the funding.

So, if a statue of George Washington is erected by the city in the city's main Park, then everyone has a right to erect a statue of whoever they want in the same park.

If judicial watch is willing to foot the bill for the street in total, repairs, upkeep, potholes etc then yes they should be able to paint anything they want on it.
I thought city governments funded by the citizens of that city foot the bill for city streets so they can make the decision to paint stuff on it if they want. Not so much a private organization unless it's there private way...right?

yes as long as the same guidelines are followed for everyone.

If the mayor of DC decided to erect a statue as a freedom of expression and demonstrated favor while denying others to follow suit, it would most likely end up in court.
