Leftists, who should we have memorials and statues of?

Many Confederates completely agreed with you because he surrendered rather than retreated to continue to fight. Lee was not the President of the Confederacy nor commander of the entire Confederate Army. He was only the commander of the Army of Northern Virginia. So of course you hate Lee. You hate Grant too, cheering the destruction of his statue too.

You don't want Confederate statues torn down because they were in the Confederacy. You want them torn down because they lose your side's goal of creating a slave nation for you white Democrats.

We don't have to "assume" If you cared at all you can "know." It is not hard to find the dates these things were put up.

And no it does not entitle people to bring them down. However, being a cops does not entitle one to violence. So broken contract. If cops can kill people can tear down statue. We are talking about the effect and not the cause. It's like saying wow it is warm today while ignoring the volcano erupting.

That's the wrong question. First of all, there's more to the American political scene than just "conservatives" and "leftists". At least there is on my planet.

The basis of the thread was " . . . . who should we have memorials and statues of?" - not who should we pull down. So it is no less important to know which ones conservatives, and everyone in the political spectrum, would defend, and why.

Certainly nearly all Native American memorials on public land should be destroyed since many owned slaves and all oppressed women terribly. You agree they all should be removed from public land, don't you?
