Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, called the report of the NFL planning to play the black national anthem before games during Week 1 of the 2020 season “asinine.”


Cruz wondered in a tweet whether there were national anthems for other races.



“How many national anthems do we have??

“Is there an Hispanic national anthem?

“An Asian-American national anthem?

“This is asinine. We are ONE America. E Pluribus Unum,” he wrote.The NFL will play “Lift Ev’ry Voice And Sing,” which is also known as the black national anthem, before every Week 1 NFL game in the 2020 season, according to ESPN.

According to the ESPN report, the song will be played before “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The NFL has not commented on the reported decision.

The league and the NFL Players Association are also contemplating listing the names of victims on uniforms through decals on helmets or patches on jerseys, ESPN reported. The NFL also may produce educational programs about victims. They also have other plans that haven’t been identified.

Next, they should create separate seating areas for black people at stadiums, on buses and subways, in restaurants etc. We should accept that the Democratic Party will never stop destroying the USA and killing people until they get their racial segregation laws and practices back.

Or maybe the pathetic snowflakes shrug it off because it's not a big deal. The teams do a lot of things pre-game, and playing this 'anthem' harms no one at all, unless you're a pathetic little snowflake whose fee fees are at the whim of song selection at an NFL game, and if so, get a ****ing life.

NFL can stick their football and the Black national anthem where the sun don't shine, why do Black people have a separate anthem than we do, are they not Americans too. Q2024

People who display NFL gear, posters, watch the NFL on TV and/or go to NFL games should be publicly shamed for their opposition to law enforcement/police and the rule of law.

It should be made VERY clear publicly that anyone who gives $1 to the NFL or NASCAR openly supports defunding/eliminating the police - meaning they are pro-criminal, pro-rapist, pro-murderer, pro-terrorist, and pro-thief.

I didn't know what the "Black National Anthem" was....so I googled. It's not really a "Black" national anthem at all...

"Lift Every Voice and Sing" was publicly performed first as a poem as part of a celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday by Johnson's brother John. In 1919, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) dubbed it "the Negro national hymn"[2] for its power in voicing a cry for liberation and affirmation for African-American people.[1]

The song is a prayer of thanksgiving for faithfulness and freedom, with imagery evoking the biblical Exodus from slavery to the freedom of the "promised land". "Lift Every Voice and Sing" is featured in 39 different Christian hymnals, and is sung in churches across North America.[3]

What will racists do for entertainment? Can't watch NFL, NBA, and even NASCAR. Can't watch liberal Holywood movies. What is a racist White man to do?

Thats a nice song, I still want to know where the country of Black is, and why do we need any anthems played at games anyway. I really dont see the point
