Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has been hospitalized with COVID-19.

A spokesman confirmed the diagnosis Thursday afternoon, describing the 73-year-old as “resting comfortably” at an Atlanta-area hospital after his symptoms became serious enough Wednesday to require care, but not a respirator.

Cain’s positive June 29 test came just over a week after he appeared at Donald Trump’s indoor campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

I wonder if he was wearing a mask? I doubt he was out with the 'masses,' but several of The Donald's campaign people have tested positive.

Edit: No mask, at least sometimes.

Does it even matter? What is very likely is that not wearing a mask in public is his normal behavior.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Well, yes, that's true. But there's something to be said for not being as bad as one says someone else is, whether in the same way or not.

You don't have to actually feel bad for someone who laughs in the face of restrictions and gets themselves sick. But staying at neutral is a hell of a lot better than anything like glee.

It doesn't matter really. He did stupid things and won a stupid prize, in this case COVID which sent him to the hospital. Doesn't matter at what stop the stupid games won him the stupid prize.

What I hope happens is he gets well very soon, and then advises people to use his own experience as a learning opportunity. Avoid large crowds, wear a mask, take simple precautions. I expect to be disappointed.

I wish him a speedy recovery, followed by a FAT hospital bill not covered by his insurance. Asshole!

Yes black lives matter. A man that ran for President, going around condeming mask wearing, setting a bad example, doesn't give a ****about the health of black lives or that of any American.
