Why shut down everything when more than 96 percent survive (virus)

Yeah, they passed them... on the way to a bar while playing hooky.

This is rich coming from the ppl who scream about science and how important it is

Then deny that life begins at the beginning

I’m sorry, I forgot. The inanimate objects of the rich are more valuable than poor people’s lives.

That’s the correct moral position according to the Right.

As opposed to kill your neighbor because they have the audacity to get sick amid a pandemic? Wow, real consistency there.

Sure you have. If those rural hospitals didn’t have to worry about investors or capital, then this wouldn’t be an issue.

Lol, riiight. If socialized medicine were so great, the UK wouldn't be leading Europe in covid deaths. If we had socialized medicine here, those rural hospitals very likely wouldn't exist in the first place.

It is my FIRM belief that you didn't even read the article to cited, because it does not support your premise. In fact, quite the opposite.

Rural hospitals are already under severe financial strain, and the point of the article is that COVID patients may overwhelm the system. I worked in rural medicine, so I know the dynamics: too few patients, means too few resources, means inadequate capacity to respond to a crisis. A single multi-car accident can overwhelm their capacity, as I've seen firsthand.

You assert "Shutting down actually does more harm to hospitals than not." That's nonsense. Beyond nonsense, it's anti-factual. The point of shutting down, in general, is to slow the spread of the virus within a discrete community (State, local or national). That gives local health services breathing room to address their local crisis. I think you're conflating two different issues - imposing local distancing/mask mandates and suspending elective surgeries.

If you'd read the article, you'd see how it actually works in a crisis and why the people you're whining about are actually doing something to address the issue.

Obviously reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

We have overwhelmingly more cases and more deaths than the totality of Europe, and they have a higher population than us.

Although to be fair, it’s difficult to separate the failure of our health care system from the total failure of the Federal government in dealing with the pandemic.

Although you’ll probably post that yawning gif again because facts bore you.

You do remember that China, South Korea, France, Italy and Germany all have socialized medicine and all are doing a lot better than this country with this virus. REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!

According to who? For the Jewish religion, they believe life only begins after the child takes its first breathe. And what about zygotes in a petri dish, are they also alive. And what about after the child is born, then you do not give a damn about how important each life is. You are not Pro-life, you aree pro birth. Like I have said, after that you just do not care if they die of starvation or lack that which we need to make it in the modern world.

Only Leftists support legalized abortion? That’s an interesting position to take.

Why would they not? The placement of hospitals in a socialized system is based on need, not on profits. It’s more likely rural areas would have hospitals, not less.

LOL -- still haven't read it, have you. God, so predictable. And unfailingly ignorant. You can't win this one.

A noticeable aversion to reality. I'm still laughing my ass off that he posted to an article that he STILL hasn't read, on a subject he's obviously completely ignorant of.

Simply not true. besides, I was talking about the UK as compared to the US, and they have double the death rate that we do.• Chart: COVID-19 Deaths Per 100,000 Inhabitants: A Comparison | Statista

You do remember that China, South Korea, France, Italy and Germany all have socialized medicine and all are doing a lot better than this country with this virus. REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!

Italy is doing better than us, with double the death rate? If you believe Chinese data, I'm not really sure what to tell you.

Either way, UK has socialized medicine, and has double our death rate. Same with Italy, and Spain.

One can never "win" against a lib, you're ALWAYS the smartest person in the room, even when you're not. The article says what it says, if you want to lamely spin it to mean something else, knock yourself out. I can't force you to face reality. Not would I expect any lib to do so.

In short, ya got nuthin'

You don't have the foggiest, you can't put together a cogent argument and all you can do is shout "liberal" and run away. I'll let you in on a secret: I've been writing about rural medical issues for over a decade. I have something you'll never have - facts, research, details. THAT is what upsets you. You're embarrassed because... you got nuthin' - you don't even know what the article was about. But, I'll keep laughing out of pity for your petulance. It is really quite amusing.

HAD our death rate. Had. Their Covid outbreaks have been beaten. Ours is on the rise because of a combination of our **** medical sector and even more **** political leadership.

Countryboy is one of those posters who only reads the headline.

If he even gets to the end of the headline...

I go through periods where I try to rehabilitate my ignore list. It universally ends in failure.
