Cop brutalizes citizen over mask

Sounds like we need to defund the police.

Police overreaction, wow, that is not happening very often these days...

If the government can require that you wear pants when you go out in public.

The government can require that you wear a mask during a pandemic.

Resisting arrest? 30-60 days in county jail.

The one time apdst complains about police brutality. :lamo

In a particularly stupid attempt to dishonestly attack one thing the left supports (preventative COVID measures), apdst moronically undermines his own anti-protester narrative without even noticing it.

Heh heh.

Say the anti-brutality folks. :lamo

Not anti brutality, anti police and yes, on one hand they vilify police and want police budgets gutted while, at the same time, expecting racist corrupt cops (according to them) to vigorously enforce every Dem restriction out there.

Trespassing and resisting arrest.

This is simple. Right or wrong, if a police officer tells you to put your hands behind your back that's what you do. If you repeatedly refuse, the officer has to put you into submission and you should be charged with resisting arrest.

Whether the store should have and enforce a mask policy is up to the store. He refused to leave (trespassing) and then resisted arrest (a crime). The officer did nothing wrong regardless of anyone's opinion on masks. A store tells you to leave, you leave. If not, it's a crime. Resisting arrest is also a crime.

Actually, that was a gibe at yall's standard dismissal of police brutality.

But self pwnage is the best kind.

 The guy repeatedly refused to leave or to put his hands behind his back. He held onto the counter, and when finally forced away, he was flailing on the officer, actively resisting arrest. Got what he deserved, frankly. The officer used the amount of force necessary on someone who was actively fighting him.

It is kind of cute that "police brutality" is a bigger crime than "killing us all by not wearing a mask!" when race becomes part of the issue. I've seen plenty of people around here recommending harsh penalties for people that won't wear a mask in public.

Agree. Officer did nothing wrong.
Overreach? Perhaps. But cooperate!

I've seen people insist those who don't wear masks forfeit their right to use hospital space!

We are in a place these days that is so far beyond sanity that I really have a hard time wrapping my head around things.

But, if he had robbed a beer store, you would be calling it police brutality.

They only want cops to enforce non-existant laws; ignore the actual laws.

Well now that cuts both ways doesn’t it? If you believe cops to be racist killers, why would you ever trust them to enforce mask requirements?

Because of a stupid mask.

Access Denied

No. It wasn't "because of a stupid mask". It was because of a stupid person who insists on not following the law, following instructions and who insists on resisting the lawful commands from a police officer.

None of that would have happened if the individual has been wearing a mask.

None of that would have happened if the individual had not resisted the police officer.

Spin is a wonderful thing...for useful idiots.

There's no law mandating that people wear a mask. I'm going have to disagree with you on this one, my friend.
