Couple points guns at protestors

Your Winters are actually much harsher than mine. I live just over 5 miles from the coast, so both my Winter and Summer temperatures are mitigated by the warm Japanese current. My Winter temperatures are typically in the +10°F to +30°F range, with a couple of days in December and in February where it drops below zero. I also get ~80" of snow on average for a Winter, although some years I have had as little as 40" and a couple years when we had more than 110". We even had one Winter where Texas was colder, and had more snow, than my piece of Alaska. Anchorage, Tennessee, is often colder than Anchorage, Alaska, during the Winter. Overall, I would place my Winter climate somewhere south of Omaha, NE, but further north than St. Louis, MO.

FYI, I live in the township of Houston, AK, just not within the city limits.

That makes sense. We do have some messed up weather here sometimes. It can swing 40 or 50 degrees in a day. My daughter wants to move to Alaska, so it is now a solid plan B.

"... The couple, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, live on Portland Place, a private street in a St. Louis historic district lined with million-dollar homes. ..."

And they don’t OWN the street the Portland Place Association owns the streets... Hell, the McCloskey’s sued the association three years ago.

Doesn't matter ... it's a private street within a gated community.

Good! The morons barreled through a wrought iron gate to get to the property. They were clearly trespassing and intimidating the homeowners. I hope like heck with video they can round them up. Anyone who thinks we are suppose to lie down and let the mob rule have another thing coming. It was so cool seeing both of them as a team ready to defend their property.

Yep; we've seen enough places being damaged and destroyed in broad daylight by these "peaceful protesters".

Is sure as heck matter for firearms laws..

Gated community is an HOA..

I lived in St. Paul, MN, when I went to the University, and I had a very difficult time tolerating their Winters. Usually in January we get what are called "Chinook Winds." They can be hurricane force winds (85+ mph), but they are always from the south and bring lots of warm air with them. It can go from -10°F to +60°F overnight, and stay above the +40°Fs for as long as 10 days.

Alaska is culturally different from anything you have ever experienced in the lower-48. If moving to Alaska is something that interest you, consider moving to either Fairbanks, Anchorage, or Juneau first. They are closest to what you are use to experiencing in the lower-48. Live in one of those cities for a year and you will get a better understanding what it means to live in the more remote areas. Fairbanks is conservative (and very cold, but dry), Anchorage is moderate (and the largest city, neither very cold or very warm, and slightly drier than Los Angeles, CA), and Juneau is liberal (and very warm, but wet).

Actually the laws says that starting at the point in the sidewalk closest to the house to the street is considered public property
This private street has a public easement?
Please provide proof of that.

Good thing they were white, or they would have been shot by a swat team....

They called security they didn't respond. They called the police and they did not respond. The crowd at one point was up on their yard shouting angry trash talk. They had every right to do what they did. And if this **** continues to spill into the suburbs, you are going to see a whole not more of it because we are not going to allow the mob to rule.

Lying while being wrong as usual you are.
A MO state representative was among the protesters and said protesters were peaceful and no threats were ever made. When asked why the group marched on private property, Representative Aldridge said, “Just like in many disobedient protests, even in the 60s, you break laws, make people feel uncomfortable. We’re not doing anything where we’re hurting anyone or putting anyone in danger.”

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner said her office is investigating the incident, adding that protesters should not be met with violence.

"I am alarmed at the events that occurred over the weekend, where peaceful protesters were met by guns and a violent assault. We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation or threat of deadly force will not be tolerated," Gardner tweeted.

Gardner was also referring to an investigation into protest that happened Saturday on Art Hill in front of the King Louis IX statue.

Lots of video showing the McCloskey’s brandishing firearms at non-violent protestors. The wife, Patricia McCloskey, repeatedly pointed a pistol (finger on the trigger, violating a primary firearms safe handling practice) at several unarmed protesters.

The gun toting lawyers may or may not be charged, time will tell.

I can only imagine this nice family sitting at the dinner table about to eat and watching this violent, psychopathic Democrat mob entering their property to burn down their home and potentially murder everyone including the pets. I can admit I would be VERY scared. And with psychopath Democrat controlled media, Mayors and Governors supporting these mobs and going against our citizens and police officers it goes from very bad to worse.

Awww.... The DA has the luxury of taking her time and looking at all the legal issues, like they don’t have a castle doctrine rights to defend association property, only their own property.

A protester said .... like that is believable. Nor is anything else they said relevant.

Yes, we know it is being investigated. Got anything we don't already know at this point in time?
Are you aware of what the police said in regards to the incident?

As for her further commentary? iLOL The protestors have no right to protest on private streets.
And they were not peaceful, they were violent. Look and just one aspect of the damage they caused.

DA will not be charging them if they wish to keep their job. That couple has money and connections.

What does the homeowners suing over damages caused by a backed up sewer line have to do with this recent incident?

It points out that the homeowners association exists and they are not trustees of the homeowners association and therefore have no legal right to pursue trespassing charges against anyone for trespass on common areas of the homeowners association. Further, there is no legal right to defend the common areas.

The couple allegedly received death threats during this incident. There seema to be a lot more to this story than is being reported currently

All I know for sure is there is a lot of he said she said flying around and I doubt either side is being 100% honest in their version of events. Hopefully more evidence will be presented in this case

Understandable but there is no question as to their "ownership" of the gate, streets, sidewalks and common areas.

apparently the man is a registered Democrat who has made contributions to Bernie's campaign and now Biden's. Now I have known a few personal injury attorneys who were Republicans but they are about as big a group as the Young Marxists for Reagan society. Now, don't get me wrong, wealthy Democrats have just as much a right to defend their property from lawless mobs or even perhaps unruly protestors. But I doubt the leftwing will pillory this couple too much assuming they are Democrats.

if they were so peaecful who broke down the damn gate?

that right there may be enough to show that they felt the need to defend themselves from a violent mob.

Conservatives, if you are not already, we need to become activists. write to your politicians, fill out their online forms and let them know how you feel about his crap. it is now or never.

Every Conservative comments represents the "sick mind these people have". There is something truly psychologically deficient within them and they have a level of savagery about any and every subject matter...

Thank goodness the Protester are not swayed by these vile of these Right Wing Conservatives Types.

Welcome to The Global Downfall OF "The Wealthy White Male Dominance of White Nationalist Ideals and Agenda" -- It is long overdue that this evil model meets its downfall and demise.

Young People across The World are tired of the savagery and vile such a system of "The Wealthy White Male Dominance of White Nationalist Ideals and Agenda" has promoted and the damages it has caused.

Entering private property in a large mob chanting irrational slogans is ALWAYS a prelude to violence
