To be honest I was being a bit lazy when I posted that.
What I mean by it being a charade is that they are not fighting for what they think they are fighting for, not that there is anything insincere about the woke opinions.
If they want to be respected and have their right to fight for their ideals to be reapected they have to respect peoples right to disagree with them. If they are unable to do that, I see no reason to treat them any better than they treat others.
Why should anyone care when they conplain something is unfair?

Fortunately this is not a private college. No matter how much leverage a football team has to blackmail an administration into censoring and oppressing free speech, so far the courts won't allow it.

If KS has a spine (and most college administrators don't) it is just that simple - no reporting to training, no scholarship. Won't play, cut from the team. It's time somebody decided who runs that school.

White players don't care about racial causes, only black players? As a matter of fact I was stationed at Ft Riley in Manhattan, Ks and there are a lot of white players on the K State football team.

THERE IS A HUGE wave of quasi religious fever sweeping the country and while it is the same crowd of BLM border-line violent, alienated young white thugs, etc. a spark was lit in the midst of a collapsing economy, shut up and unemployed folk (esp youth), and anxiety about a pandemic. And unlike 'normal' times, NO ONE (including Trump) did much to get a grip on it. Mayors have stood aside and let their cities turn into no-go zones, buildings burned, and the rage by the same suspects has turned the knees of our ruling classes to jello.

The the mindless, brain dead, bumper sticker deep mantra of "systemic racism" and political correctness overnight has turned this country into a disgraceful madhouse of overwhelming stupidity. Of course all this was predicted 25 years ago with the shift in education to leftwing indoctrination and now corporate bullyies are mouthing the same brain dead platitudes. VIRTUE posturing and joining the lynch mobs to prove their worthiness to be spared a boycott.

There are so many example of the craziness its a mass hysteria; the country isn't far from being an insane asylum. Colleges have always shown an amazing about of tolerance, if not enabling of this stuff. But how are people being allow to destroy public art celebrating emancipation? London having to cover up their statue to Churchill? WTF? A guy fired from his dream job because he was cracking his knuckles and somebody thought it was a secret white power symbol?

In California in the late 60s we had a college administrator, a linguist and President of SF STATE. Of Japanese-American roots, S.I. Hawakawa a quiet scholar turned into a lion, physically confronting demonstrators, climbing on top of the protestor vans and shouting them down through THEIR bull horn, finally crushing the open rebellion and take over of school buildings. HE had a spine, and the people elected him to the Senate.

KC needs him.

The school has no leverage, and they'd be foolish to dispose of their big-money athletic program. The football team sucks, but the basketball team could rattle some cages.

Nobody is going anywhere, except behind closed doors to talk.

Good point. However unless he can build some stats on the field, I can only assume that the current hype is just about grabbing him up to help sell team jerseys and caps.

Guy is basically a side show for the current NFL circus.

Dood doesnt want to play. He has a sweet gig right now as a guy that sucked bad enough to get benched twice because of his game play who was then turned into a martyr and profited of it.

Rattle cages all you like, but as long as the courts protect our rights to free expression a government school has no choice. If they bend the knee, they will be sued and slapped down hard if they attempt to enforce it.
