@shaunking
STOP generically telling us to VOTE in response to all of the police brutality we have right now.

Yes we should vote. But we have to be VERY specific.

Democrats, from top to bottom, are running the cities with the worst police brutality in America right now.

We voted for them.

Yep, someone has figured out (and dares to note) where this "systemic racism" is happening and who is in charge of it.

Police brutality is going on everywhere. Not just in cities run by Democrats

Shaun King is a progressive. What he means is we should primary ineffective Democrats and always, always vote against Republicans. That's a message I'm all in favor for. I'm not sure white wingers are ready though for Democrat party full of AOCs, Ilhan Omar's, or Jamaal Bowmans.

Hell I don't want that either.

A few radicals on each side are a good thing, however we need a majority of moderates in the middle to keep sanity.

Unfortunately right now we have a right wing that is gone soooo far off the deep end we will have to wait years for some moderates to emerge.

I'm not sure that the general electorate is ready for more AOCs and the like who wish to defund the police.

Imagine the woke nirvana these 3rd worldists would deliver us! One can only dream.

I'm sure. They don't . AOC is a joke. So is Omar.Normals get that.

Pretty sure it's not going on in my living room.

Yes. Why didn't you actually link to the Shaun King Tweet?

Very few here take your word for anything.

This guy in Republican Valdosta, GA had is wrist broken while being thrown to the ground even though he wasn't resisting:

Wrongly arrested Black man sues a Georgia city and police officers for excessive force and injury - CNN

This guy in Republican South Carolina was shot in the back of the head after he was already subdued and wasn't resisting:

Man shot in back of head by S. Carolina cop sues department - ABC News

It's not just in Democrat-run areas.

It's true that public sentiment is not in favor of literally defunding the police. It's about 2:1 (57%-29%), against defunding the police, in fact.

But about 60% of the public agrees that "major changes (37%)," if not "complete overhaul (23%)" of policing in the U.S. is required, compared to only 27% who believe only "minor changes" are needed.

"Defund the Police" is a bad branding job, more than anything else. No one is arguing for abolition of the police, only for drastic reforms and redistribution of public funds away from using armed officers for every call.

The biggest obstacle to reform is police unions. That's where the malignant, racist culture of many police forces comes from. And that's got NOTHING to do with the "big city Democratic" mayors you guys like to criticize.

And as for "AOC and the like"....If I were a betting man, I'd wager that AOC is more popular and respected by the general electorate than the likes of Louis Gohmert, Steve King, etc. Funny how few Louis Gohmert bashing threads are started by "the left" on message boards like this one, huh?

Who do you suppose agrees to those police union contract terms (in exchange for campaign cash)? Are they not "big city demorats"?

We already have that Democrat party.

There's nothing more bizarre to watch than liberal Democrats who have run these cities for 30, 40, 50, 60 years blaming Republicans and/or "racists" for their problems. Their failures are so gigantic that they think only monumental denial and blame shifting can make people not notice.

We have it and we'll have it on steroids if they get power in November. I expect we'll see all sorts of shenanigans like expanding the SC and giving DC and Puerto Rico statehood in order to create a permanent majority. The left doesn't just want power now. They want it forever. That will allow them to start to carry out the economic, if not physical enslavement of those who oppose them. Of course, that means a civil war, which the left seems intent on. They will realize their error too late I fear.

I love it when Shawn Dolezal speaks for black America.

Even when he has a point he is still a fraud.

Does that rhetoric come with a homemade shield?

My comment is that you don't know what he's longing for. He wants someone to the left of the current crop of Democrats.
