Fox News, euphemistically called the Trump Network, has an unenviable task. It has taken on the daunting mission of supporting the most incompetent President in American history. In addition to being incompetent, Trump is encumbered with extreme paranoia and narcissism, in addition to lacking intellectual prowess. He is as discreet as a raging bull.

Fox News, which I watch every day of the week, has taken on the challenge of defending this man.

They do this in a very unique way. Much like Trump's followers, Fox News avoids mentioning him.

Much like Trump's followers, they do it this way for a reason. The coronavirus pandemic is raging out of control. 30 states are seeing a surge of new cases. There were over 35,600 new cases in one day. Hospitalizations from Covid-19 are also rising in 16 states as of Wednesday, and a Miami hospital reported a 108% increase in covid patients. More deaths are likely to follow in two to three weeks. That has been the pattern.

Today's segment of "Bill Hemmer Reports" was much like so many other segments. There was not one news story concerning Trump on any subject, let alone what he is doing about the pandemic crisis. The one hour show concentrated on what Trump is concerned about; the border wall, national monuments, BLM leaders, Joe Biden, law and order, and defunding Obamacare during a pandemic. Fox spent a good share of its time on the Ford F-150 and a lawsuit against the Seattle mayor as if this was of paramount importance to Fox viewers. Well, maybe the F-150 was.

Honestly, the hour long show was painful to watch.

Assuming Trump's fans watch Fox more than any other news network, it did provide clarity on a very strange phenomenon. Why is it Trump's followers do not defend him from his critics, and why do they avoid Trump?

Watching Fox News, one gets the answer. As much as it can, Fox avoids Trump. When Fox offers commentary in support of Trump, the misrepresentations and omissions are so obvious a child could counter them. Even Trump's fans wouldn't dare use the arguments on political forum such as this one.

This explains to some degree why Trump's followers are unable to support Trump, and why they avoid him, preferring to talk about Joe Biden, liberals, Pelosi, national monuments, law and order; anything but Trump.

This is how the Fox headline read following Trump's incredulous decision to cut funding for Covid-19 while the virus is surging.

White House plan to cut federal funding for coronavirus testing sites sparks pushback

It isn't the White House.

It's Trump!

The first para in the article said, "The Trump administration announced it will be removing federal funding from 13 coronavirus testing sites spread across five states on June 30, and the move is now drawing pushback from both political parties."

It isn't the Trump administration, as if a lot of people were involved in this incredibly stupid decision.

It's Tump!

Trump's supporters are proving me right again.

On the other hand, the question might be, are there any left? If so, they are a pretty quite bunch. Also, Trump's approval rating is approaching the bottom.

Having problems with someone taking your fake bait? How many more times are you going to post in your own thread before you get the message?

I've defended Trump repeatedly, yet you simply ignore my defense of him.

Face it Shanks, you are intellectually dishonest.

I do not get Fox News but it looks like you might be onto something.

Oh, but the Biden thing is really interesting! Way more than the TDS BS. Personally, I'm still trying to figure out what Dems were thinking (or the DNC?) when they made him the nominee. There has to be some kind of hidden motive. Maybe something about the VP.

Yeah, like that makes any sense. Fox News defends Trump in a unique way of not mentioning him?

I guess you should roll on over to CNN where their earth shattering breaking news is how Trump walks down ramps, how he drinks water, why he eats KFC, or how many diet cokes he drinks.

Then you can get your daily fill of everything Trump.

You sound disappointed that Fox doesn't mention the hourly breaking news epiphanies which keeps CNN ratings below the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. When your news network can't get ratings above children programs, maybe thats an indicator of the news you prefer?

Biden won the Democratic primaries. That's how democracies work.

Yes, getting Trump supporters to defend Trump has become a very serious problem.

In the meantime, I feel an obligation to keep readers informed. A lot is going on.

The only thing worth watching on Fox News is Tucker, who is awesome, he is one of the 30 most important people in the American conversation right now. Good on Fox for keeping him on even though he has been largely demonetized by the Maoist Extremists, but the rest of what they do largely sucks now that Roger is gone, now that the Lefty Murdock kids are in charge.

Face it Shanks, you are intellectually dishonest.

You have occasionally responded to my posts critical of Trump, but you have not responded to the issues within those posts.

If I am critical of Trump on specific issues, explaining why you support him is not defending him. Also, focusing your attention on me, which you do in most of your replies, is also not defending Trump on specific issues.

I must give credit where it is due. At least you have have responded. You have tried to challenge my views. That is far better than 99% of Trump's fans. I sincerely appreciate your efforts.

Trump isn't incompetent at all. It's that he's too competent that fuels the left's maniacal need to remove him. He sees through them and calls them what they are. He's a threat to them and all their plans for making this a socialist hellhole. If Trump were really incompetent, the left would hardly pay attention to him.

Non-responsive.

When it comes to Trump, you continue to talk in theoretical terms. You never discuss what Trump is actually doing and saying.

Trump is not only incompetent. Because he is the President, he is extremely dangerous. But, if you only watch Fox, you wouldn't know that. That is why Democrats, Independents like me, and many Republicans are paying attention.

If you have the courage, join me on A report card on the Trump administration where I chronicle specifics on Trump's incompetence.

You see, there is a major difference between you and me. You deal with the theoretical. I deal with reality. What is Trump actually doing and saying.

My guess is, you will continue to avoid that thread. Although I criticize Trump mercilessly, you and most Trump fans have avoided the thread for weeks.

You didn't provide anything that needed defending.

Your entire post was Fox News defends Trump in a unique way by not defending him?

I just thought I would leave that statement to its own devices.

Nothing about Trump's performance indicates incompetence. Far from it. As I said, if he were really incompetent, the left wouldn't be nearly as maniacal as they are. I'm also not interested in the claims of leftists concerning Trump because few of them are rational. No POTUS could do 100% of everything wrong yet that is what the left claims for Trump. That alone invalidates most all of what they have to say on the topic.

Fox News is still in their ideal place.

If Trump wins they still get to be the State News service for the White House.

If Trump loses then they have plenty of trained seals who will yell and scream and froth about everything President Biden does.

Their viewers are committed, dedicated, ride-til-you-die sheep who will never leave the flock.

On the one hand the Left keeps talking about how badly Trump sucks, about how no reasonable person could vote for Trump.....but then they turned up willing to sell their souls for promises of beating Trump, which means that he is so hard to beat that they became so desperate that they would for instance vote for a mostly dead man.

It does not add up

Today on Fox's "Bill Hemmer Reports," once again there was no segment on the President. Fox ignored Trump again.

The news show spent an inordinent amount of time on our national monuments, law and order, and defunding the police. The only people talking about defunding the police are Fox, Trump, and BLM. Even GOP lawmakers have given up on the non-issue.

In a headline below, Fox claimed that Pence said 32 states had less covid cases and 13 states showed increases. I watched much of the press conference and its coverage on CNN. I don't believe Pence said that.

Why? The opposite is true. Covid cases are surging in 32 states, and 13 states are leveling off.

Fox is making itself irrelevant. Americans are dying by the hundreds daily, thousands are being hospitalized because of the virus, and the rate of positivity is increasing. The President is oblivious to it all. That is what concerns most Americans, not monuments and a non-issue like defunding police departments.

And CNN and MSNBC defended the worst president ever, Obama, and it continues as the disgraceful Biden lives through "Barack" as Biden always refers to his idiotic buddy. I don't think that Biden has ever had an original thought of his own except for days like today when he screwed up info once again because of obvious dementia and said that the US has a death toll of 125 Milliion because of COVID. The correct figure is 125 Thousand.

I know that Biden has a lot to do during his 10 minute town hall meetings, but maybe someday he'll get some figures correct.

But presidential material Biden is not.

I rest my case.

The base has become so willfully ignorant it's just easier to deny anything/everything concerning trump that is negative. Defund testing sites in the middle of a pandemic? Who does that help? He is also once again in court trying to kill off the aca, who does that help?

The gop has become so vile it's main objective is to 'own the libs.' If that means letting, encouraging trump to destroy all the norms we have in america, so be it. His policy ideas are not only not helping people they are downright cruel which I'm sure is the intent.
