Bail Reform

Bail is used as punishment for the poor, used to coerce guilty pleas.

You will never face this. Your own will never face this. But there are countless situations where a field test (they are very unreliable) for drugs says something is positive, the defendant knows he/she did not buy any drugs, and he/she is faced with the choice of either pleading guilty now to a reduced charge and getting out, OR having possessions, property, job, all that stripped.

If your response is "I would fight it", that's being part of the problem. Someone could bail you out. If you have kids and they get in trouble, you can bail them out. You don't have to worry. So many do.

Before you spout off with some variant of "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime", well, we're talking about suspects.

It's a process and they all have to play out.

Why don’t you make your argument to the family of the 82 year old women that was murdered days after a piece of scum was released under the new bail reform laws.
PS even democrat state legislature want to take another look at the law.

Why don’t you make your argument to the police who have to locate these scum on warrants because they don’t appear for their court dates or the scum they have to rearrest multiple times.

What a totally ludicrous thing to say.
No it is not.
It is used to assure defendants appear for their proceedings.

If you think the courts have allowed excessive bail, take it up with them, or petition your government for change. But making false claims about it surely will not give you the results you desire.

Which is what makes it so great. Many friends have made millions as bail bondsman. Beat up office next to the jail, it’s a pretty good racket.
