George Floyd is one of 44 people that Minneapolis police rendered unconscious with neck restraints in the last five years - MarketWatch

George Floyd was not the first person to lose consciousness after a Minneapolis police officer put him in a chokehold. In fact, Minneapolis cops have rendered 44 people unconscious with neck restraints since the beginning of 2015, according to an NBC News analysis of police records. And three-fifths of them were black.
The Minneapolis police define “neck restraints” as any time an officer uses an arm or a leg to press someone’s neck without directly pressuring the airway, more commonly referred to as a chokehold. And Minneapolis police subdued people this way at least 237 times in the past five years, and 16% of these incidents led to the suspects and other individuals losing consciousness, according to the department’s use-of-force records.

Among those who passed out from this submission tactic, three-fifths were black, about 30% were white, and almost all of them were male. Three-quarters of them were age 40 or younger. Almost half of those who fell unconscious were injured, but the reports did not specify the extent of those injuries.

So I wonder how many people magically died of a heart attack that arent being added to this 44 people choked out statistic? The same police department knocked out 44 people in 5 years with non-wind choke holds! I wonder how many of them descended into "heart attacks" and swept under the rug like George Floyd? The 44 we do know about are only the ones who woke up and lived to tell about it!

Wonder what happens when the cameras are off.........

Sounds like half the department is corrupt, and the other half is covering it up. Get rid of all of them and start over.

The fish rots from the head down.

Yup...the way the officer adjusted his knee on Floyd's neck suggests he's done it many times before. He and others knew that leaning a man's neck could kill him...and that makes it premeditated murder.

That precinct isn't the only one that needs a complete overhaul....there are thousands more across the country just like it or worse.

There were over 450 complaints against that police department that got swept under the rug, too. The cop that killed Floyd had something like 18 complaints against him alone...and yet he was still out terrorizing the community.

I saw that too, he was purposely digging his knee in behind the adam's apple while he had a little smirk on his face.

This is an amazing revelation. Obviously, the problem is endemic & the leadership needs to be canned.

His smirk showed intent. Floyd begging for his life and bystanders telling the cop that he was killing him...and he smirks and digs his knee in more while another officer holds his chest down.

Let that be the last smirk he ever makes.

Get rid of the chief for not supervising his officers because they quickly learn what is permissble.
