WASHINGTON (AP) — Secret Service agents rushed President Donald Trump to a White House bunker on Friday night as hundreds of protesters gathered outside the executive mansion, some of them throwing rocks and tugging at police barricades.

Trump spent nearly an hour in the bunker, which was designed for use in emergencies like terrorist attacks, according to a Republican close to the White House who was not authorized to publicly discuss private matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The account was confirmed by an administration official who also spoke on condition of anonymity.

The president and his family have been shaken by the size and venom of the crowds, according to the Republican. It was not immediately clear if first lady Melania Trump and the couple’s 14-year-old son, Barron, joined the president in the bunker. Secret Service protocol would have called for all those under the agency's protection to be in the underground shelter.
Trump has told advisers he worries about his safety, while both privately and publicly praising the work of the Secret Service.

Will Trump follow in Nixons footsteps and leave the WH to meet the protesters for a dialogue? I think Nixon had balls, Trump bone spurs.

There are large groups of people burning buildings, attacking police, news media personnel, and anyone else they take a dislike to in several locations around the nation.

Meanwhile at one point outside the White House some "rioters" knocked over barricades set up by the Secret Service and tried to push through, but were held back.



Thankfully, despite provocation, the Secret Service did not have to use deadly force.

I would not be surprised if the Secret Service had Trump and family sent down to the safe room.

Trump doesn't have the dignity to do that. He only tweets about it.

I admire what Nixon did in that instance. It showed real guts, something we know Trump lacks. But hey, maybe Ol Bone Spurs will find someone else to talk to the protesters, like five finger Mike.

Either way it's curtains for Trump. Biden will have one hell of a mess to clean up in Jan 2021.

According to Imnotgoingtovietnam.com, Trump insisted his bone spurs were acting up and asked the Secret Service to take him to the bunker and send down a porn movie to keep him busy.

This is true. When the Secret Service says go here for security, you go. The President really doesn't have any imput. At the rate we are going the democrat controlled and governed cities in America will be burnt dow in a few more weeks. How about the Mayor's sitting back and doing nothing for a couple of days to "let the rioters vent their anger". I believe that was the Minneapolis mayor's comment.

Nope police abuse is awful, but this rioting and looting has been hijacked by Antifa which is now designated a terrorist organisation. Who cares if you were in the USMC, you would not walk out and face lunatics and calm it all down, and sure liberals will shoot back but they would get utterly destroyed in a war v republicans!

No chance, this is nothing to do with Trump, the more MSM and liberals push their lies, more people will come out and vote for Trump. What you and other liberals fail to realise is that the more you paint big bad orange man as the root of the evil, the more he ends up the victim and people will move to him. Apart from that, Biden is totally unfit for office, he should be in a retirement home!

Nixon was a good politician, but he approached trumpian dishonesty when he said he had the same goals as the protestors to end the war. Really, he *surpassed* nearly all if not all of any of trump's lies, and that's saying a lot.

What you fail to realize is this, Trump is loosing the Indies. The last 40 years two Presidents have lost reelection due to recessions. Trump will be the third. You look at the turnout for the 2018 mid terms, that should frighten Republicans.

Perhaps Biden and Trump can share a room at the retirement home. Two old men, America can do better.

The opposition need do nothing except play President Tide Pods shining moment on camera. Ingesting disinfectant as a cure? Is Trump crazy or actually stupid? Perhaps an Alzheimer's moment. I don't believe Indies are going to be pushed to vote for a man who utters such stupidity. This will be easy for Biden.

Hey perhaps President Tide Pod will throw out some paper towels to the protesters. Someone will have to clean up this mess. My guess President Biden.

I believe Trump and the Right were recently ridiculing Biden for as they called it, hiding in basement.

Then, not long after ridiculing Pelosi for vacation, Trump headed a golfing vacation while the crisis and unemployment sored
