Blacks make up nearly 50% of all wrongful convictions--that means half of the cases where we know the jury got it wrong involve black people who make up only 12% of the population. Imagine how many there are now sitting in prisons who do not get their wrongful convictions overturned.
Why are black people our legal scapegoats? Because institutional racism sees blacks as criminals. Even today, as the riots run rampant, most people blame black people for the violence, even though much evidence points to whites breaking windows and starting the fires.
What about the crimes they do commit. It's a fact that blacks commit more crime despite being a smaller segment of the population. This means they are committing more crime than whites who comprise roughly 5 times the population. Committing more crime means you would be in the line of fire more often and that would result in more shootings.
There isn't a excuse for the level of crime and it's hard to sympathize. The looting in cities currently is outrageous. No law abidding person is going to support what is happening.
