If he had his staff produce an properly evidenced and referenced report on the real risks and benefits of postal ballots and presented reasonable suggestions for principle and policy on the topic, both all the existing forms of postal ballots and any new or expanded use of them being implemented, we could all have a reasonable discussion about the big picture. If he just randomly rants about "children raiding mailboxes" and just makes empty assertions about rampant fraud without even trying to back them up, we're going to discuss his statements as he offers them.

"How many ballots did you get out of mailboxes today Jeff? I got 14. I'm going to have so much fun playing with these 14 ballots. Life has never been so complete! I might even fake vote with them even though the person whose name is associated with it will have it deleted when they go to vote and they find out that the county will have as them as having voted already. So the county will let them sign an affidavit and vote anyway and then destroy this ballot so all my fun will have been for nothing... but it will still be sooo much fun. It's great to be a kid!"​
