children “raid” mailboxes and “grab the ballots.”

Trump should wrap the tinfoil tighter around his head. A top tinfoil brand like Reynolds wrap will allowing ultimate protection by: keeping crazy ideas floating in the atmosphere from enter his brain, followed by locking the crazy thoughts that do enter, in his brain.

Speaking at the White House signing of a new executive order on social media, the president once again went off on mail-in ballots, repeatedly claiming the process is rife with “fraud and abuse” — even though there is no evidence of that.

President Donald Trump again railed against states expanding vote-by-mail on Thursday, this time making absurd claims that children “raid” mailboxes and “grab the ballots.”

Trump Makes Baseless Claim About Children Stealing Vote-By-Mail Ballots | HuffPost

Since 2000 more than 250 million votes have been cast via mailed-out ballots, in all 50 states, according to the Vote at Home Institute. In 2018, more than 31 million Americans cast their ballots by mail, about 25.8 percent of election participants.

None of the five states that hold their elections primarily by mail has had any voter fraud scandals since making that change. As the New York Times editorial board notes, “states that use vote-by-mail have encountered essentially zero fraud: Oregon, the pioneer in this area, has sent out more than 100 million mail-in ballots since 2000, and has documented only about a dozen cases of proven fraud.” Rounded to the seventh decimal point, that’s 0.0000001 percent of all votes cast.

So your thesis is that there has never been any election tampering by any entity in any way at any time for any reason ever.

Got it!

Kids grabbing ballots out of mailboxes? Trump is delusional. :lamo

Because it's an extremely funny and ignorant claim, no?

Fraud isn't the problem. According to the U.S. Election Assistance Commissions 2016 report, more mail ballots were misdirected and unaccounted for than the margin of votes between Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump. She had 2.9 million more votes, yet 6.5 million ballots were misdirected or unaccounted for by the states. In other words, for every vote that Hillary won over the eventual president nationally, more than twice as many mail ballots disappeared or went to the wrong addresses.

The data demonstrate the danger of putting the presidential election into the hands of the U.S. Postal Service, as well as the problems with inaccurate and out-of-date voter registration lists.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation of federal election survey data states 32 million mail ballots effectively disappeared, went to the wrong house, or were rejected since 2012. This includes all-mail voting states like Oregon and Washington, as well as absentee ballots in other states.

Taking into account the 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 federal general elections, 28.3 million mail ballots disappeared after officials gave them to the U.S. Postal Service. There are numerous problems to point fingers at and many explanations as to what happened to these ballots, but the bottom line is simple: tens of millions of ballots were lost in the mail voting system on a scale not seen at polling places.

Because Trump isn't talking about the big picture. If he had his staff produce an properly evidenced and referenced report on the real risks and benefits of postal ballots and presented reasonable suggestions for principle and policy on the topic, both all the existing forms of postal ballots and any new or expanded use of them being implemented, we could all have a reasonable discussion about the big picture. If he just randomly rants about "children raiding mailboxes" and just makes empty assertions about rampant fraud without even trying to back them up, we're going to discuss his statements as he offers them.

It's the difference between being a "celebrity" agitator and being a president.

Do children raid your mailbox?

And if they have it would be for whatever your bought from Amazon... but for ballots?

"How many ballots did you get out of mailboxes today Jeff? I got 14. I'm going to have so much fun playing with these 14 ballots. Life has never been so complete! I might even fake vote with them even though the person whose name is associated with it will have it deleted when they go to vote and they find out that the county will have as them as having voted already. So the county will let them sign an affidavit and vote anyway and then destroy this ballot so all my fun will have been for nothing... but it will still be sooo much fun. It's great to be a kid!"

You mean that same commission where the head of the commission, a republican, said that there was no fraud?

You just keep pushing fear and nonsense, don't you?

Thats correct. There is no fraud claim here, is there. What was the first sentence in my post?

Fraud isn't the problem

Since you didn't even bother to read the information before you chimed in, nobody is claiming fraud.

Try and keep up or move on.

So that's what kids do to pass the time these days eh? We used to ride our bikes around, and play sports. Now they steal ballots to swing elections. Who knew.

Re: Trump: Children “raid” mailboxes and “grab the ballots.” And this tinfoil head wants ano

Why do you folks always seize on a detail and ignore the big picture?

Because Trump is a clown who literally said kids today spend their time stealing ballots to swing elections. How many days has it been since he informed the world his best plan for dealing with Covid-19: Injecting disinfectants. That's comedy. That's why you're the biggest laughing stocks in the world. That's how you MAGA! :lamo

European diplomats: Trump is a 'laughing stock'
'People here think Trump is a laughingstock'
Trump is making America the laughingstock of the world
Finns mock Trump by raking country great again

It's crazy. Trump puts on his daily clown show, and every day his supporters get triggered when we laugh at the clown.

You are just trying, again, on another thread, to spread fear and disinformation.

You don't want it to be easier for Americans to vote. How sad is that?

You touch on a point that deserves discussion and flies in the face of Trump and Trumpians if they want to discuss mail voting reality.

Pretty simple discussion actually for mail in:
Many voters already do it, well documented Trump and staff do it.

Very little incident of mail in issues. I did not say zero.

So with very little issues, meaning only small tweaks are needed, why isn't Trump setting up a task force in order to create a save and effective mail in?

Shouldn't he plan ahead for a possible second wave of covid that may happen around election time? Social safety may once again be necessary to protect citizens and hospital census. Along with that time starts flu season.

Or is Trump once again unable to plan ahead and lead with covid.

Also, why not mail in?

After what you just wrote, I starting thinking, so If Jeff took all ballots in his neighborhood, would that swing an election?

Or would Jeff have to set up a state wide mailbox ballot theft network, yeah that's it.

Wait a minute, Jeff to young to be a registered voter. What party is he for? And what about his statewide minions?

Voter fraud is small and rare and when it happens it happens one at a time. Electoral fraud is where it's at because it effects mass amounts of votes. And that's where you find GOP tactics focused. Like fraudulent felony sweeps that oversweep and wipe people off voter roles that have names surnames that are predominately black in a particular region.

Re: Trump: Children “raid” mailboxes and “grab the ballots.” And this tinfoil head wants ano

Very little incident of mail in issues. I did not say zero.

An electoral system with "zero fraud" is a fantasy no matter what is done. I don't care if you spend the entire GDP of the USA on the problem, someone, somewhere, is going to commit fraud.

It's all comes down to what's an acceptable level, and how much do you want to spend. This "see, look at the fraud!" from the right is a Red Herring.
