Who will the Republican nominee be in 2024? I think Ted Cruz has a shot, and if Biden beats Trump I could see him losing to Cruz in 2024. What a tragedy that would be. Who might the Democrat nominee be in 2024 if Biden doesn't beat Trump? Bernie and Biden will both be in their 80s with Warren not far behind. Surely not any of them, right?

Biden already said he is NOT going to run in 2024 if he wins 2020.

Did he? I guess it makes sense. He'd be almost 90 by the end of that term.

I'm not 100% convinced that Biden will still be the Democrat nominee but I am 100% convinced that even if he is nominated and wins he won't be president come 2024. His VP pick will be president and he'll be revered as the man who stepped aside to insure that America has a female president.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would be eligible I think (her 35th Birthday would be on October 13th 2024) so I'd guess there is a chance she would run in Bernie's Place to win progressives on the left of the Democratic Party. I think she could run a competitive primary campaign if she could build on what Sanders has done already.

I'm less certain that the Democrats would make her the nominee and still not convinced she is the ideal candidate even if I'd favour a much left-wing alternative. I'd still lean towards an older candidate with a proven record who can demonstrate competence in the highest office in the country to be fair. But perhaps the situation will have changed so much we'd welcome a young and fresh face. It wouldn't hurt if she tried.

Donald Trump Jr. because it would only be the third time in history for father/son presidencies.

For the GOP: Nikki Haley.

I believe Niki Haley has the inside track for Republicans. It wouldn't surprise me if the gay guy has the inside track for Democrats if Biden does not win.

Do you think he is qualified?

The subway guy? Or the one that has flopped all his big projects since 2016?

I think cruz is a no. I've heard it was his race to consolidate in 2016 and because he failed to make alliances, trump took it. That kinda speaks to his ability to build coalitions and rally people to his cause.

Whoever it is for the gop, I hope they'll be the moral and ethical beacons of GOP yesteryear. America cannot have a trumpian regime for long without major consequences in our society. He brought the dogs to the yard, the behaviors that we are supposed to keep in check in a civil society. And he blew wind in the sails of some radical groups that should just go away already.

For the democrats, there are a lot of options. I just hope they can bridge the center and left wing (moreso reel in the left to reality) and put the rumors of corruption, and other bad stuff in the far past. There were some promising faces in the primaries but I guess they didnt have the campaign machinery or the national name recognition and massaging to take on Bernie/Biden. Obama's ascent and consolidation was something special that we probably wont see again for awhile unfortunately.
