A 27-year-old Grand Haven man was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 18 months probation for election fraud he committed while trying to help a Grand Haven attorney get his name on the ballot for a 2012 election.

Brandon Michael Hall admitted to forging numerous signatures on petitions for then judicial candidate Chris Houghtaling.

Hall was charged with 10 counts of election law forgery — a felony — in 2013. He successfully appealed the case back down to misdemeanors in Ottawa District Court, Ottawa County Circuit Court and the Michigan Court of Appeals.

He did not succeed when Assistant Attorney General Gregory Townsend appealed the case to the Michigan Supreme Court.

Hall said, after the high court’s decision that the case should be tried as a felony, he resigned himself to the fact that he would likely spend some time in jail.

Officials again charged the self-proclaimed political junkie with 10 counts of election law forgery and the case went to trial in late November.

Jurors came back with a guilty verdict on all counts after one hour of deliberation.

“This is the most ignorant thing I’ve ever done,” Hall said prior to sentencing. “I’m very regretful.”

Stunning how much hatred you have for OUR President and how ignorant you are about the problems in your own country that led to the election of Boris Johnson in December. The left is out of touch with reality and this OP is a perfect example as to the effort they will go to, to destroy Trump. This action had nothing to do with Trump, nothing to do with the 2016 elections and yet it is news worthy for the radical left who is fighting hard for survival seeing Trump destroying the liberal ideology by generating positive results for the majority in this country. The hatred and politics of personal destruction even out of context is on full display.

Clue: the kind of election fraud Trumpists claimed existed (illegal alien and other fraud on Democratic behalf) is what did not exist. However, electrion fraud by GOPers seems rather common.

This has everything to do with your entire GOP party, Trump included, because it strikes to the very heart of the way cheating, lying and stealing are all totally acceptable practices within the party. It's corruption to its very core.

Trump is a position now that you can be elected to? Whatever. The point is he was hired tovwork for Trump while facing charges. You have no problem bringing up decades-old allegations against Biden.
And before you make the usual conservative leap, no, nothing in the original post implicates the President, before or after he was elected Trump.
