Could a note scream “cover your butt” any louder? Why would lawyers want a document created, two weeks after the fact and at the very last minute, that purported to show the Russia probe was totally kosher?

Surely because they feared people would think otherwise, because the probe wasn’t.

We now know, in fact, that nothing about that investigation was handled ethically.

Comey, she wrote, had “concerns” about her replacement, Michael Flynn, and said the National Security Council should “potentially” withhold “sensitive information” on Russia from Team Trump. But Rice admits it was Obama who asked whether information should not be shared.

Yet they had no legitimate grounds to keep the new team in the dark about anything. The Obama folks knew full well by then that the FBI had found zero evidence of collusion or of Flynn betraying his country. Because they were listening in on his phone calls to foreign officials.

No outgoing president should push aides to withhold information from his duly elected successor: Their duty is to share every last bit of it and cooperate with his staff to the fullest. This was a full-on bid to sabotage Team Trump — and it worked all too well.

But at least it was by the book.

As a lay man, I'm not sure what the problem is with wondering out loud how to handle the Flynn situation. He was working for foreign governments and interacting with others. He was appearing in the foreign communications that lead to the unmaskings. Many have admitted he shouldn't have been heading into that role. Simply put, this isnt the massive scandal that right leaning mainstream media is making it out to be. The unmasking was legal and warranted. The concern over what to share with him or how to handle it was also legal and warranted. Manufacturing obamagate over the speculated fringe discrepancies while trump does all the **** he does daily is pure political hypocrisy. Simply calling it obamagate is proof of what it is.

There have been 36k unmaskings and I'm sure thousands of questions about similar things during trumps tenure. Are we going to sift through all of them and nitpick speculative conflict of insterests or legality? The trump admin has a bunch of people that were extended security clearance that shouldnt have been. Are they unmasking? Are they need to know people? But we are going to ignore this and dial up the pre election anti dem drama.

I guarantee if it wasnt Biden as the expected opponent, we would be seeing trump and the GOP corruptly wielding the government in spinning up scandals against who ever the alternative would be to try to sway the election. This is the definition of corruption. And the story about Flynn unmasking and fisa errors would be gathering dust with Clintons emails.

One thing I havent heard any Republican or righty acknowledge is that with all this fake obamagate stuff, the obama admin didnt use it politically to sway the 2016 election. They could have been smearing this stuff about Russia helping trump all over the place.

I honestly don't know how it will go, and my friend, my political theory holds about as much weight as yours, tbh.
I've never tried to have it any other way. Despite my suspicions that the unmasking of Flynn came from the top, and a rather dubious Obama admin. theory that Trump was in bed with the Russians, I look forward to finding out the truth from John Durham as to how ALL of this came about...

Your suspicions are that Obama ordered the unmasking of Flynn. Is that correct? So, Obama wanted to know who was talking to the Russians, found out it was Flynn, and then what? How does the POTUS inquiring on a matter of national security indicate anything out of the ordinary?
