A report card on the Trump administration

The “Trump Death Clock” will be driven around Washington on Saturday ahead of July 4 celebrations in the city.

“Trump and his administration were advised as early as January that urgent measures were needed to stop the spread of the pandemic, but he refused to take action until mid-March, resulting in an estimated 76,000 unnecessary deaths, or 60% of the overall coronavirus death total," Public Citizen, a co-sponsor of the clock, said in a press release. "Trump has also undermined his own public health experts, pushed states to reopen early and spread misleading information about the virus."

Gov Cuomo single handed accounts for about 40,000 dead in his state. Sandy never mentions that.

New York’s nursing home horrors are even worse than you think

8 million viewers watched the Trump Rally at home.

Obama never touched that.

Oh, yes, Trump's followers are fanatics.

But they have no idea why they support Trump. Glance at the posts on this thread. Nearly all of them are heavily critical of Trump, and they are based on documentary evidence with links. Including you, Robert, Trump's followers are unable to defend Trump and are unable to contribute to his legacy which is defined by this thread.

When it comes to supporting Trump, his followers are completely silent.

That includes you, Robert.

There is a lot I haven't mentioned. I rely on posts. I'm not writing a book.

Besides, I am not overly interested in what Democrats do or don't do. I am interested in those people who are running our government on a federal level. Getting down to the state level is not nearly as important.

How are book sales on your book about the sinking ship?

For years, since around 2017, you say that same claim. We defend Trump from experts.

Sandy still ignores the major source of CV19 deaths. Gee wonder why?

The U.S. leads the world in the number of cases of the coronavirus and the number of deaths attributed to the virus. There are over three million cases, 42,500 new cases in a single day. The positivity rate has gone up to 25% in most parts of the country, and there have been nearly 133,000 deaths. Hospitals are reaching capacity, while some in Texas and Florida have already reached capacity. At Trump's urging, the Republican governors of these two states opened early. Now they are closing businesses again.

The E.U. forbids American travelers.

Russia may be posing a serious threats to our troops in Afghanistan which Trump knew nothing about until it appeared in the Times.

What does our President have to say?

"There were no tests for a new virus, but now we have tested over 40 million people. But by so doing, we show cases, 99 percent of which are totally harmless. Results that no other country will show, because no other country has testing that we have — not in terms of the numbers or in terms of the quality."

Today, Trump was concerned about Bubba Wallace -- the only black NASCAR driver on the circuit -- and NASCAR itself.

"Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings "

Trump uses the same dumb tactic over and over. He says these incredibly stupid things to distract us from his immeasurable failure.

99 percent of which are totally harmless. Face it. One cannot ignore a comment as fabulously dumb as that.

One sentence by me. Sandy a barrage of claims.

I shall see if I can dismiss his Trump claims.

Cherry picking is in season at the Sandy home it seems.

His first cherry.

Trumps urging. Trump always stipulates it is up to Governors and for Governors to open up safely. Sandy did not mention that.

Russia may be posing? May Sandy? Either the Times is in charge of our security or Trump is. May be Sandy?

Trump was not briefed Sandy. So there is no maybe Sandy, Trump was not briefed.

When Trump said "There were no tests for a new virus" Gee Sandy, were there tests for the new virus? Gee Sandy, no there were no tests.

Trump per his experts does admit that 99 percent have no life threatening problems. Show that not to be true.

What was dumb about his medical experts claims Sandy?

Trump's golfing buddy, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), took exception to Trump's ludicrous tweet.

"You saw the best in NASCAR. When there was a chance that it was a threat against Bubba Wallace, [the drivers] all rallied to Bubba's side," Graham told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade.

"I would be looking to celebrate that kind of attitude more than being worried about it being a hoax. ... I don’t think Bubba Wallace has anything to apologize for,” Graham added.

Wallace was not the one who found the noose in the garage and did not report it. Of course, everyone in the country familiar with the episode knew that except one NASCAR fan -- Donald J. Trump.

Donald Trump's niece Mary Trump levels scathing criticism of the President in her forthcoming book, accusing him of being a "sociopath" and charging that Trump's "hubris and willful ignorance" dating back to his early days threatens the country.

Mary Trump's book, "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," accuses Donald Trump's father of creating a toxic family dynamic that best explains how the President acts today. Mary Trump, whose father, Freddy Trump [Donald's older brother], died following struggles with alcoholism, writes that she could "no longer remain silent" following the past three years of Trump's presidency.

"Donald, following the lead of my grandfather and with the complicity, silence and inaction of his siblings, destroyed my father. I can't let him destroy my country," Mary Trump wrote.

U.S. News and World Report states, "New modeling projects that the coronavirus death toll in the U.S. will exceed 200,000 by November, but more than 45,000 lives could be saved if the vast majority of people wore masks in public," this according to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. It is the key model used by the White House.

However, our President discourages the wearing of masks. He said Americans might wear face masks not as a way to prevent the spread of coronavirus but as a way to “signal disapproval of him.” Trump says some wear coronavirus masks '''to signal disapproval of him'''

The U.S. leads the world in the number of cases of the virus and the number of deaths from the virus. The U.S. has quarter of the world's total in both categories. Trump thinks that, during a world-wide pandemic, this is a good time for the U.S. to withdraw from the World Health Organization. The Hill reports, "The White House has officially moved to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO)."

Led by California, Florida, Texas, and Arizona Covid-19 is surging. 31 states are reporting increases in the number of cases, and, as expected, the number of deaths are rising.

In this environment our President decides to lie to the American people. “Now we have tested almost 40m people. By so doing, we show cases, 99% of which are totally harmless." "We now have the lowest Mortality Rate in the World."

Oblivious to the fact that young children attending school are a petri dish of all the known viruses in the world, Trump decides to put pressure on state governors to open the schools throughout our country irrespective of local conditions, such as a raging virus in Miami Dade County, Florida. Robert Redfield, director of the CDC, sold his soul to the devil and supported Trump.

ABC News reports, "President Donald Trump has been clear about where he stands in the debate over whether schools should resume in-person learning amid the global pandemic, tweeting Monday in all-caps that “SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!!'"

Keep something in mind. Putin wanted Trump to be our President.

More than 40 Florida hospitals in multiple counties across the state have maxed out their ICU capacity or are close to running out of intensive care beds as the coronavirus outbreak across the Sunshine State worsens, according to the state’s Agency for Health Care Administration. Coronavirus strains Florida health system as some hospitals run out of ICU beds in largest counties

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, a Trump disciple, will not disclose the number of Covid patients in Florida hospitals.

It took three months for Florida to reach 100,000 cases of the coronavirus. Because DeSantis opened businesses up early, including bars and restaurants, it took two weeks for Florida to reach 200,000. Florida is the new epicenter of the Covid pandemic, although Texas -- also with a Republican governor, also opened early -- is coming close.

Today, DeSantis bragged about how the Florida health system can handle the surge in cases. Because of that factor, everything is just fine, according to DeSantis. His brain appears to function similar to Trump's. Are current GOP leaders really that stupid, or are they trying to mimic the Republican President?

It was under these circumstances Gov. DeSantis’ produced an edict that public schools provide in-person classes five days a week this fall.

The Palm Beach Post reports, "The emergency order was issued by state Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran Monday, the same day President Donald Trump called for schools to reopen."

“Logically, I don’t think they could say schools aren’t safe if they are allowing people to be out in public,” Department of Education spokeswoman Cheryl Etters told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune on Monday.

So, according to Cheryl, one act of stupidity justifies another.

There are no boundaries for abject stupidity.

The Brazilian Trump has the virus as did the British Trump a little bit ago.

NPR reports, "Jair Bolsonaro has tested positive for the coronavirus.

"The Brazilian president, who has consistently downplayed the dangers of the virus, revealed his positive test result during nationally televised remarks Tuesday. "It came back positive," he told reporters from behind a mask.

"He is just the second major world leader, after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, to confirm he contracted the virus."

Trump's dear friend, Kanye West, Kanye West Visits Trump in the Oval Office - The New York Times, has announced that he is running for President himself, despite having missed deadlines in several states to actually get on the ballot.

That said, it appears Kanye may have changed his mind about his friendship with Donald.

He is taking off his MAGA hat.

Kanye, who has been widely criticized because of his support for Donald, reportedly stated he has lost confidence in the commander in chief.

"It looks like one big mess to me," West said. "I don't like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker."

He was referring to reports in June that Trump was briefly moved to an underground bunker during protests at the White House over racial injustice and police brutality.

Well, Donald, win some, lose some.

In January and February Trump mishandled the coronavirus from the very beginning with his surreal, optimistic comments that bordered on fantasy. As a consequence, the federal government was slow to react to the impending threat. It is why today, the U.S. has a quarter of the world's Covid cases -- over three million -- and a quarter of the world's deaths caused by the virus.

Now he is making a very bad situation worse. There is no clarity from the federal government, and Trump often contradicts his own experts. The leading expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, appears to be persona non grata in the White House.

In this confusing environment, Trump, unrealistically hoping to put the pandemic in the background to improve his reelection chances, wants all schools in the country to open in August or early September. He has threatened to withhold federal funds to get his way. Still another empty threat. School funding is primarily a state and local matter, and withholding federal funds for education is political suicide.

The Covid-19 virus is surging in 35 states. The wave of new virus cases began two weeks ago, roughly the incubation period of the virus. As expected, the death rate is also increasing. Yesterday there were 1,195 deaths. Today, the U.S. has 766 deaths and it is not even supper time yet. The positivity rate is setting new records. In Florida the positivity rate was 20.8% state wide. That is extremely high. In March and April, the norm was 5%.

Pence made the incredibly ludicrous remark today that the positivity rate is leveling off. Yes, it is leveling off ... at the elevated rate. Politico reports, "Pence during a White House coronavirus task force briefing touted “early indications” of positive tests flattening in Arizona, Florida and Texas, which have each seen a surge of new infections in recent weeks."

“We believe that the takeaway for every American, particularly in those states that are impacted is keep doing what you’re doing because we’re starting to see the first indications ... that they are having a good effect,” Pence said. The hospitals in those three states are nearing capacity. 40 in Florida have reached capacity.

Still another example of the White House being clueless.

In a tweet Trump said the CDC guidelines for the schools were too tough and expensive. Pence announced that the CDC will be coming out with new guidelines for schools next. The U.S. government is by tweet.

ABC News reports, "President Donald Trump's campaign rally in late June, as well as the accompanying counterprotests, likely contributed to the area's recent spike in coronavirus cases, Tulsa City-County Health Department Director Dr. Bruce Dart said Wednesday.

"In the past few days, we've seen almost 500 new cases, and we had several large events just over two weeks ago, so I guess we just connect the dots," Dart said at a press conference.

"Dart, who said prior to the rally he'd recommended it be postponed over health concerns, added on Wednesday that "significant events in the past few weeks" had "more than likely contributed" to Tulsa County's surge in cases."

Some may think I am being presumptuous by evaluating the Trump Presidency. However, I beg to differ. As an American I have a perfect to judge my President.

By the same token, others have a right to question my judgement. In fact, I encourage it.

Trump is falsely given high marks on the economy. Why? Because Americans give high marks to the President if the economy is doing well. Conversely, Americans are ruthless in their judgement if the economy is doing badly. Actually, Presidents have little control over the economy. To blame them or credit them is a mistake. As an example, Herbert Hoover had nothing to do with the causation of the Great Depression. It just happened on his watch.

That factor notwithstanding, Trump has done nothing for our economy except threaten it with his high protective tariffs -- a liberal concept -- and his trade wars. The stock market treaded water from January 2017 to September 2019 because of Trump's trade war with China.

Recently, Trump has fired four inspector generals. Trump has, by far, the highest turnover rate of any President in American history.

With his interference in our Presidential election in 2016, which included a four-month barrage of info that battered the Clinton campaign, it was clear that Vladimir Putin wanted Trump to be our next President. Putin knew his man. On the foreign front, the Trump administration has been a disaster at home, but a boon to Putin..

By his own admission, Trump admired Putin. "I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his statement today," Trump said in July 2018 at a conference in Helsinki.

Trump has weakened NATO, an alliance formed as a bulwark to Russian aggression. The allied leaders of Britain, France, and Germany no longer trust him. Trump camp finds no appeasement at Munich - POLITICO

Trump's Iranian policy has caused Iran to resume her nuclear research, and America's menacing enemy is closer to a nuke than ever.

If you are Vladimir Putin, what is not to like?

The Times has reported, "Intelligence officials warned House lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to try to get President Trump re-elected." Trump got hostile with the report. Trump does not want the American people and its representatives to know that Putin wants to help him get reelected, 2016 redux.

Then there is the supposition that Trump is merely a figurehead. Someone else or, more likely, an unknown cabal is running our government? There is conjecture along those lines because of one overriding factor.

To be quite frank, Trump simply lacks the intelligence to be the leader of the most powerful country in the world with the largest economy in the world. It is being suggested that he was elected as a figurehead and he remains one today. That would explain why Trump has such overwhelming support within the GOP, in spite of his moronic and erratic behavior. It is not Trump they are cheering --indeed, his fans largely ignore what he says and does -- it is the agenda they are supporting.

Trump's leadership in the Covid-19 pandemic is questionable at best, and tends to be extremely optimistic to the point of distorting or misrepresenting reality. However, any conclusion as to his leadership in this crisis is premature.

In conclusion, a matter of concern for many Americans is that, with each passing day, it is becoming evident that Trump's support comes from the extreme right. Also, because those who support him pay little attention to what Trump actually does and says, his support is almost cult-like.

The Post reports, "The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected President Trump’s assertion that he enjoys absolute immunity from investigation while in office, allowing a New York prosecutor to pursue a subpoena of the president’s private and business financial records.

"In a separate case, the court sent a fight over congressional subpoenas for the material back to lower courts because of “significant separation of powers concerns.” Since both cases involve more work at the lower level, it seems unlikely the records would be available to the public before the election.

"All members of the court rejected a sweeping claim of immunity promoted by the president and his lawyers.

“In our judicial system, ‘the public has a right to every man’s evidence,’” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. wrote in the New York case, citing an ancient maxim. “Since the earliest days of the Republic, ‘every man’ has included the President of the United States.'"

In a tweet Trump said the CDC guidelines for the schools were too tough and expensive. Pence announced that the CDC will be coming out with new guidelines for schools next. The U.S. government is by tweet.

Redfield didn't sell out after all, or, was Pence lying again? It wouldn't surprise anyone. The Trump White House lies on a continuous basis led by the Liar-in-Chief.

Redfield never said there would be new guidelines. Pence said that.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will not revise its guidelines for reopening schools despite calls from President Donald Trump and the White House to do so, agency Director Dr. Robert Redfield said Thursday.

Instead, additional reference documents will be provided, Redfield told ABC's "Good Morning America."

As anxious parents and educators across the country hand wring over how to safely bring children back to the classroom, the discord between Trump and his top health advisers over appropriate precautions has added another layer of uncertainty.

The President, against the advice of some of the nation's top health officials, has repeatedly called for schools to reopen as coronavirus cases surge across the country.

Fox News reports, "President Trump on Thursday signed an executive order establishing the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative – a move the administration says will improve access Latinos have to educational and economic opportunities.

"In a speech in the White House Rose Garden before signing the order, Trump touted the initiative as expanding school choice for Hispanics and one that would improve access to charter schools for students."

A black parent in Harlem might be asking, "What am I, chopped liver? What about my educational and economic opportunities?"

Donald hasn't learned there is a problem when you single out one ethnic group for special advantages.

"The initiative is also meant to create more career pathways for Hispanic students as well as boast investment in economically distressed communities, including Opportunity Zones, and offer more economic opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses," Fox added.

The white blue collar worker in Ohio who voted for Trump and has been out of work since March with prospects bleak might be asking, "What am I, chopped liver? What about my educational and economic opportunities?"

That is the problem when you single out a particular group for special treatment.

Then there is another confusing aspect to all this.

All of sudden Trump is in love with Mexican immigrants and their families? Or, is the new, cheapened executive order -- Trump signs one or more every week and they lost their impact months ago -- just another transparent photo op; this time to garner the Latino vote?

Donald is so obvious. He lacks the intellect to be discreet.

Today Trump expressed enormous concerns about the the educational and economic opportunities for Hispanics. Gosh, he even signed an executive order that supposedly would improve the lot of Latinos in our country.

While ignoring the national crisis that is killing 800 to 1,000 Americans a day, exacerbated by his total ignorance of the disaster, Trump gave a great speech about the economic opportunities in our country, ignoring the 11.1% unemployment (17.8 million), while urging schools in the country to open regardless of local conditions.

Speaking of local conditions, 60,000 new cases of the virus were added today and counting, 858 Americans died and counting. United States Coronavirus: 3,219,801 Cases and 135,807 Deaths - Worldometer

Florida suffered 120 deaths in one day, a new record.

Texas suffered 105 deaths in one day, a new record.

California suffered 149 deaths in one day, a new record.

Also, extremely alarming is the positivity rate in Arizona is 28%, 26% in Texas, and 19% in Florida, and the virus is surging in 33 states.

Not a word from our President.

Ho-hum, it's a new day and another new threat from Trump.

Trump said Friday he is asking the Treasury Department to review the tax-exempt status of universities and school systems, suggesting in a tweet that too many were about “Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education.”

Trump also said he would have their funding revoked “if this Propaganda or Act Against Public Policy continues.”

“Our children must be Educated, not Indoctrinated!” he wrote.

Trump has absolutely no idea how foolish he looks with his threat-a-day approach as President.

Still no word from him on our national crisis which is killing Americans on a daily basis. Yesterday, 960 died. Trump's only concern is his reelection and that means pretending the pandemic doesn't exist as he brings up countless distractions.

Trump is, indeed, a sociopath. Putin knew this. It is why he wanted Trump to be our President.
