SO, MR. DERSHOWITZ TRIED TO EMBELLISH HIS LEGAL CREATION AND DISTINGUISH AMONG THOSE ABUSES OF POWER WHICH WOULD BE IMPEACHABLE FROM THOSE WHICH WOULDN'T, ABUSES OF POWER THAT WOULD HELP THE PRESIDENT GET REELECTED WERE PERMISSIBLE AND THEREFORE UNIMPEACHABLE AND ONLY THOSE FOR PECUNIARY GAINS WERE BEYOND THE PALE.UNDER THIS THEORY, AS LONG AS THE PRESIDENT BELIEVES HIS REELECTION WAS IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST, HE COULD DO ANYTHING AND NO QUID PRO QUO WAS TOO CORRUPT. NO DAMAGE TO HER NATIONAL SECURITY, TOO GREAT, THIS WAS SUCH AN EXTREME VIEW THAT EVEN THE PRESIDENT'S OTHER LAWYERS HAD TO RUN AWAY FROM IT. WHAT ARE WE LEFT WITH? THE HOUSE HAS PROVEN THE PRESIDENTS GUILT. HE TRIED TO COERCE AN ALLY INTO HELPING HIM CHEAT BY SMEARING HIS OPPONENT. HE BETRAYED OUR NATIONAL SECURITY IN ORDER TO DO IT. WENDY WITHHELD MILITARY AID TO OUR ALLY AND VIOLATED THE LAW TO DO SO, HE COVERED IT UP AND COVERS IT UP STILL. HE IS CONTINUING OBSTRUCTION IS A THREAT TO HER OVERSIGHT AND VESTED POWERS OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE AND IF LEFT UNADDRESSED WILL PERMANENTLY AND DANGEROUSLY ALTER THE BALANCE OF POWER. THESE UNDENIABLE FACTS REQUIRE THE PRESIDENT TO RETREAT TO HIS FINAL DEFENSE. HE IS GUILTY AS SIN BUT CAN'T WE JUST LET THE VOTERS DECIDE AND HE IS GUILTY AS SIN BUT WHY NOT LET THE VOTERS CLEAN UP THIS MESS? HERE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION WE MUST LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF THIS PRESIDENCY AND TO THE CHARACTER OF THIS PRESIDENT OR LACK OF CHARACTER AND ASK CAN WE BE CONFIDENT THAT HE WILL NOT CONTINUE TO TRY TO CHEAT IN THAT VERY ELECTION?

While Schiff is an extremely smart man, accurately predicting what Trump does based on what he always does doesn’t exactly make Schiff a prophet.

That's because you never listen to anything but what you want to hear: far-right infotainment/propaganda, depending on the source, and all of it instructing you to believe every single thing a Democrat ever does is designed specifically to victimize your political tribe.

You've chosen to isolate yourself in a false reality. Of course it "amazes" you that the people your false reality condemns don't see what you see. The kind of person who is willing and actually able to isolate themselves in a false reality is the kind of person who could never conceive of things being other than what they believe they are.

A person who suffers a literal delusion cannot think themselves out of it.

Yes Trump is following a playbook as old as dictators and tyrants themselves. His attempts to break down out institutions and the separation of powers is unique for us though. We have never had a President so bent on destroying what our founders so wisely devised in his quest for absolute power.

He was impeached, colluded with a hostile foreiign government to fix an amo election in his favor, blackmailed an ally in an attempt to fix another one, and has many pending charges when he leaves office (most likely in cuffs).

It’s a rarity to see someone actually praise Adam Schiff. Any praise can only come from the ultra partisans that are clueless of how destructive that man has been to our republic and our system of governing. From his closed off basement hearings to leaking intelligence committee meetings content during breaks he has been the worst steward of our constitution in my lifetime.
