We're back, states the president.

I take zero responsibility will be his next statement.

This guy is willing to sacrifice anyone's life in order to try to get the economy going and the only thing that's going to get going is more death.

He's gambling that it works and the business owners and unemployed/furloughed workers support him in November.

If Trump gets a second term Americans aren't going to get vaccinated for at least a year after it's mass produced and distributed. I mean, it'll be distributed in other countries, but sure as hell not ours.

Not only that, but he's going to sneak into nursing homes and spread the virus!

Oh wait, that was what four or five Democrat governors did, killing many thousands of people by sending COVID infected patients into nursing homes

Oh my gosh!

Here's a hint. States control what happens inside them, and it's a voluntary act to go to work or a restaurant or the beach or where ever.

Is Trump to blame for what Americans decide to do of their own free will?

The president of the United States is supposed to be a leader. He can set a good example for people to follow. He can tell people to do the right thing. It has an effect.

He knows he's lost come november and this is his hail mary, his only chance to win and he's willing to put everyone's lives in jeopardy on his roll of the dice.

If the numbers don't spike, there's a very good chance he'll be hailed by many as saving the economy over Democrats, who wanted to keep it shut down.

However it is a big gamble because the numbers could very easily spike (one of the reasons his allies are questioning the death count) and/or it could come roaring back in the fall, before the election.

Well we certainly cannot wait til a vaccine is developed and tested to reopen things, that's for sure. You're really looking at probably a year or so for the vaccine. Thing will have to open before that. Now, that doesn't mean we need to take the brakes off. We do need to keep testing up and expanding, we need to watch the numbers, we need to do this in steps to make sure we don't overwhelm our hospitals. But things cannot be shutdown for much longer. Many states have started soft reopenings, and we'll see how this goes. Hopefully we can get things up and running.

I saw charts earlier and the only portion of the country where it's going down is the northeast. Midwest and south both rising. The west staying steady at its high point. It's only going to get worse and hang on longer for the stupidity of this president. More deaths to come because of his huge ego.

Isn't everyone hoping for the best? At the same time I'm hoping we are preparing for the worst. I think/feel this is not going to turn out well.

Hopes and prayers are about all the feds have.

There’s literally no plan. None. Not on a federal level, at least.

The press secretary bimbo waved two around today, but couldn’t say what was in them.

We had two months extra time to prepare while in shutdown, and while more testing is available, it’s not even close to what’s needed, and there’s no comprehensive testing strategy even proposed.

We have no contact tracing set up except in a few states, and no quarantine enforcement proposed.

We aren’t getting out of this unless we figure out a treatment (which isn’t real likely given the pattern of virus treatment in history- it’s not easy) or wait a year or more for a vaccine.

100k deaths are predicted just til summer - if you’ll notice, the administration is just pretending it will magically disappear.

I think we are looking at multiples of 100k deaths over the next 12 months.

We do need to need to prepare, particularly since there will be a second wave. That being said, we need to find a way in which we can, as a People and as a Republic, address this together and find intelligent ways to get the economy going while making reasonable accounting for this pandemic.

We've sacrificed the lives of a million people for the good of the country in all the wars we've fought.

And today you're unwilling to sacrifice your trip to ****ing Applebees. My great granfather, who died in WW2, would weep at how weak his children and grandchildren's generations have become.

No doubt he would weep at how you're willing to roll over to the government, stand back and watch your fellow countrymen get ass ****ed by the government, all because you got yours and **** everybody else.

He said that before the kung flu lock down. If he says it now, then **** him. He's worth $12 million. He's got his.

You're demanding we **** over the entire workforce in The United States. How can you possibly believe that will have a happy ending?

That would be wonderful now if we could only get the patriotic republicans to agree it would be a massive improvement.

What's your point? We should sacrifice another couple of hundred thousand more deaths to this virus for the 'good' of the country. When you and all the people who support this kind of thinking go first, I'm all for it. Take every single person who votes republican with you. Grrrrr, go get that economy, go economy go.

The man is Satan, poison to the formerly great country, the USA.
