Jim won't save you

You avoidance of the question means you don't want all rights restored. Just the ability to vote.

Bottimline is, you only support felons voting because you believe they'll vote Democrat and the whole point is to get more Democrat votes.

Stealing something that is valued at over $750 is a third class felony in Florida.

I don't see why something like that should strip people's Constitutional rights away from them for life.

When the case is concluded and the obligation (punishment) is completed there is no reason to continue to exclude them from voting.

To do so is continued punishment after the case is disposed of.

Not to mention the Florida voters voted for them to obtain their rights back. Republicans then created this poll tax on ex-felons to subvert the will of the people just to maintain their voter suppression.

Personally, I think even people serving their sentences should be able to vote though I know I'm hopelessly in the minority here. But to prevent people from voting after they've served their sentences is indefensible on every level.

I agree. I would go a long ways in fixing deplorable conditions in prisions if they had a voice.

Don't commit a felony and you won't lose your vote. That's the deal.

That's not in fact "the deal" in Florida. The constitution of Florida now protects the rights of ex-felons to vote after they've served their sentence.

Yes, but Democrats would love to have all felons voting from their cells. They never take an inch when they think they can get a mile.

Then why are their Republicans which support allowing felons to vote after they have paid their debt to society?

Yes, but...nothing. The Florida constitution protects the rights of ex-felons to vote after they have served their sentence. Your dumb, partisan trolling is off topic.

You'd have to ask them. At least it's not letting them vote from prison.

The topic is felons voting. That's what I've been talking about. The thread title itself is trolling BS. Yea, Jim Crow really has a lot to do with this topic. I guess the OP assumes that all felons are black.

Why do you call people that have served their time felons? Is every crime punishable for life to you?

noun
a person who has been convicted of a felony. (Oxford)

That's incorrect. The way I read it these are fines imposed as part of the sentence.

voting by felons who cannot afford to pay court-ordered “legal financial obligations,”

So the terms and conditions of the sentence have not been met.

Ex-felons voting, and whether not being able to afford a fine or other payment is sufficient to deny someone a protected right.
