I hope that they catch these people soon, but this is certainly getting out of hand.

Michigan just had an armed protest against some of the rules, but that remained largely peaceful. This act, however, is murder straight up. Apparently the person left and then returned 20 minutes later and shot the guard. Over a face mask. The divisive rhetoric and calls to "liberate" certain states are not helping the situation either. We need to get over this, we can be upset at the rules and want them to change, but we should not be shooting people because of it.

Christ. See this is why, even as the MI protesters playing dress-up were peaceful at the time, people still worried. Because there really are some genuinely bad and seriously unbalanced people out there, who really will start shooting over anything. But you generally cannot tell who is who until the shooting starts.

I just saw that on fb a bit ago. If he hates stay at home and masks, the shooter is really going to hate life in prison!

Murder is never acceptable under any circumstances. Neither is delegating powers to yourself nowhere bestowed on you by either your state legislature or the US Constitution. These governors can recommend or suggest that people stay home and that businesses stop operating but they CANNOT force it using fiat powers. People have agreed to these measures so some of these governors have taken that as a green light to become ever more dictatorial. Citizens have justly started to resist this trampling of their rights which the left, some of the right and the MSM seem to have no problem with at all.

The idiotic talk about how our rights are being violated has gotten people upset. Some of them are talking revolution. They talk about constitutional rights but don't seem to even know how that works.

The state and local governments do have the authority to restrict rights for good cause. It's right there in the 10th Amendment if you know how to read it.

Some conservative pundits have not covered themselves with glory here.

The 1st amendment applies to state governments just as it does to the Federal government. Even with leglislative approval, which most all of these governors do not have, they cannot stifle free speech and the freedom to assemble for a redress of grievances. Using the pandemic as an excuse to exercise sweeping and intrusive powers enforced by police is a very dangerpous precedent, even if many people are too complacent, frightened or uninformed to realize it. This has the chance of setting a new standard where EVERY public crisis will see vast emergency powers handed over to one person. It's not what our system is about.

It's truly amazing that wearing a mask to protect themselves and others is too heavy a burden for some to bear.
 
I refuse to believe that anyone that can read that story, the locale, the details as we have it and the results is actually stupid enough to believe that this incident was about Trump, the Michigan governor, or the subject of masks. I FULLY believe people will knowingly lie and try to attribute it to Trump, but they arent actually stupid enough to believe it has anything to do with Trump.

Many hire security to enforce distancing, number of customers that can enter.
 
The shooter was acting in the interest of "liberating" Michigan.
Trump is PERSONALLY responsible for this death.

He see himself being flushed in November. He will say/do whatever to stop/slow hemorrhaging of voters in November

Are you making a case that if someone believes that their government is being too authoritarian then they aren't allowed to speak on it because some random guy might shoot a store worker? That's silly.
