The coup attempt against President Trump

Conservatives do love their bubble. There was no coup attempt against Trump, and there's no global Deep-State effort against him. The fact of the matter is almost everything that comes down on Trump is because of something Trump did. But "conservatives" don't want to admit that. So they live in their own bubble, make their own alt-reality and spread their propaganda that it's some huge conspiracy against Trump and blah blah blah.

I used to think that one could only use the "This is everyone's fault by mine" argument for so long. But Trump and the Trumpeteers are showing that they can take this on indefinitely. Sad really.
Do you feel the Mueller investigation, the attack on General Flynn, the illegal surveillance of American citizens, the impeachment attempts, FISA abuse, and lies by the heads of investigative government agencies were just a series of odd coincidences? Nothing to see here?

I think that the True Believers will do anything they can to turn coincidence and proper bureaucratic oversight into causation.

The story says "Lynam told the informant he intended to target structures that did not have a defense system. The goal, he said, was to put an economic burden on businesses and the government".

Sounds like the typical left wing rioters out there now..

3 white ex-military white guys, yea typical.

While Obama indeed has no major scandals in his administration, Trump has been the single most perpetrator of presidential abuse in history.

Oh brother

More lies from the overly-emoting, blind-hate people

Sure. Despite all the firings, resignations and early retirements it was all just 'bureaucratic oversight' going on.

i never want to see another complaint from you about corruption since you obviously support what happened.
it is pretty disgusting that our national law enforcement agency would be so steeped in this.

Yeh...get the stupid out

Sigh

I love how liberals are so smug and condescending when they have zero knowledge of the facts.

Safe in their snug little liberal cocoon.

Dude, you were literally just arguing that it is bad to use the WWW to get information. That we should all just trust far right conspiracy sites, like you've been doing for decades (according to you). And then you make that accusation?

Yes. Yes they do. That's what Trump loves about them. He sees them as poorly educated and thus easy marks. And based on how easily he manipulates his base, a bit of fear, a bit of racism, it's hard to disagree with him.

Donald Trump declares 'I love the poorly educated'

Poorly educated but living the good life from the stock market and other wise investments, while watching the educated liberals (i.e. the indoctrinated) attack their neighbors and destroy their property. Shouldn't you be out rioting by now?

Trumpers are not living the good life because the great majority are not in the stock market and the great majority do not know how to make wise choices and investments.

Whereas, the educated liberals, centrists, and responsible right have done so and survived the Recession.

Trump is facing 20% UE, covid deaths approaching 200,000, and the falling apart of the Obama-gate investigations come November.

Lol, classic Trump supporter. Can't wrap his head around the fact that Hillary legitimately won more votes than Trump so he has to make up ridiculous and unfounded conspiracy theories.

Oh she won...shes the participation award President.

You and others apparently believe a minority of Americans should decide the direction of the nation during the 21st century.

Sorry but if you are pushing the popular vote then you are wearing your education level on your sleeve. We are the United States of America not the United State. We have 50 separate elections and each STATE picks the president they think best represents them. Sorry but if cali wants to let illegals in by the millions and allow them to vote their policies will only affect their state not the other 49. Or 57 as Obama supporters believe.

MY education level would be the equal of yours if you have an MA in History, otherwise - nah. The debate about the Electoral College has been ongoing since it was first published as a means to get the northern states with smaller populations to sign up. Also, the men who created the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution were almost all of the educated upper class which felt that the majority of voters really didn't have the knowledge to pick the President or Senators - until the passage of the 17th Amendment when the electorate in each state was allowed to vote for their Senators.

There are some states which seem to think their state legislatures should choose their senators but the 17th Amendment says they can't do that. Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Virginia have never ratified the Amendment. Alaska and Hawaii weren't states in 1913 and their legislatures have never taken up the issue.

Education only gets you so far. As we all can see you have no conception of what the 50 states are for.

I didn't know you had multiple persons using your nym - or is that 'multiple personalities'?

I believe, I don't know for sure because all I have to go on are your posts in this forum, that your concept of the United States of America is rather constricted and incapable of understanding the complexity of the nation's history and the relationships between states and the federal government with its multiple entities. That's fine, as long as your ideas are only yours and a limited number of other people.

You and others apparently believe a minority of Americans should decide the direction of the nation during the 21st century.
You seem to have no knowledge of how elections work in the US, or the Constitution. You can look it up online.

That's right. An often overlooked word is OF America.

You might want to take a peek at my post #1189, that's up to you. It seems that too many who post comments supporting right-wing ideology simply refuse to actually engage with political opponents, preferring their beliefs to reality - or so it seems.

There was an attempted soft coup against a duly elected president; the Russian Collusion Hoax and the extensive and illegal spying on the Trump campaign and the Trump presidency.

Literally the biggest abuse of power in US history.

Involving not only high officials at the most powerful agencies of government, but President Obama, who oversaw the entire thing and almost certainly initiated it.

Obama's illegal surveillance went far beyond must spying on the Trump campaign and the Trump presidency.

Carter Page Says FBI’s SpyGate is ‘ just the tip of the iceberg’ Hints At Future Legal Action
By Sara Carter
....Page became the target of some of very corrupted officials within the agencies he had assisted in the past. They did this to target President Donald Trump.

.....“The FBI and CIA definitely made some very serious very egregious mistakes, but, you know one of the primary drivers of this was the Democratic National Committee and their operatives,” said Page, referring to the DCN and Hillary Clinton campaign financing the debunked dossier through the private research firm Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile the now debunked dossier, which was the main source for leaking false information on Trump and Page to the media. The dossier’s information came from former Russian spies tied to Steele and suggested that Page was an asset of the Russian government, which was patently false.

.....Page, who has received numerous death threats since stories began leaking about him in 2016, told this reporter what the public knows is only “the tip of the iceberg.”

Page said he is “encouraged and appreciative that last month Inspector General Horowitz and his team started uncovering this, but there’s so much more and, to me, these life or death situations that the DNC disinformation campaign created for myself and so many other Trump supporters and volunteers on the Trump team that is a huge issue and I think some of the important revelations you’ve talked about and just mentioned are really the tip of the iceberg.”

DiGenova Calls Admiral Mike Rogers’ Cooperation With Durham Team the ‘Biggest Single Development’ in Case, Here’s Why
Posted at 1:30 pm on December 26, 2019 by Elizabeth Vaughn
Last week, it was reported that Admiral Mike Rogers, who served as Director of the National Security Agency under President Obama, has been cooperating with U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal inquiry into the origins of the Trump/Russia collusion investigation. This was big news for two reasons.

I called Rogers the “Unsung Hero.” He was one of the few Obama administration officials who actually had integrity, a man who noticed that something was amiss and acted. It was this man who traveled to Trump Tower on November 17, 2016, to brief then-President-elect Donald Trump that communications from the building were being tapped. He did not notify his superior, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, beforehand.

Rogers has an electronic trail of all the spying that went on over five years. He has personal notes – like Jim Comey – only this time they are not self-serving notes, they are the truth…I have described Mike Rogers as the Rosetta Stone of this investigation…I can be fairly confident now in saying there will be a substantial criminal conspiracy indictment against a lot of people with the electronic spying.

That electronic spying that went on from 2012 through 2016 into NSA databases was used for unmasking people and then leaking that information to the press.

DiGenova is asked if this includes the unmaskings that involved Susan Rice and Loretta Lynch and he says yes.

...Next, he directs our attention to the famous press conference given by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) in March 2017, while serving as the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. Nunes, whose efforts to expose the corruption have been monumental, was widely criticized after this presser. DiGenova explains what Nunes had just seen at the NSC prior to meeting with reporters. What he sa were spreadsheets which had been produced by the White House of the intercepts, the illegal NSA intercepts, and on it were the names of people, telephone numbers, to and from information, which led to the unmaskings. That’s what this is all about. It is truly remarkable that we have finally gotten here....

They discuss the significance of the Obama White House using these intercepts, which are meant to be used to thwart terrorist attacks, against their opponents for political purposes. DiGenova calls it a stunning scandal of immense proportions that is being ignored by the Washington Post and the New York Times. He wants everyone to be aware of the April 2018 ruling by Judge Collyer about the spying by FBI contractors. He explains:

Collyer wrote an opinion where she exposed, on the public record, the names of all the people which had been blotted out…all the people in the DOJ and the FBI who were involved in the illegal database searches, the three FBI contractors for example, are named in there, but their names are blotted out. She told everybody about this and nobody did anything about it and nobody did anything about it on Capitol Hill except for one person, Devin Nunes. Nunes and Mike Rogers should both get the Medal of Freedom from President Trump. They are heroes, American heroes.

When Mike Rogers found out about the electronic spying that had been going on for years, and then about the spying that had been going on inside the Trump campaign, he not only went to the FISA Court, he went to Trump, you will recall on November 17, 2016 and warned him about what was going on.

At that very point, Ash Carter, the Secretary of Defense, and James Clapper, the DNI, tried to get Admiral Rogers fired. It didn’t happen because Obama knew that everything would come out immediately....

DiGenova said that Rogers has already met with members of the Durham team “multiple” times. It’s possible that information he’s provided led to Durham’s request for John Brennan’s communications records from the CIA. Either way, this is a monumental development.

Dead silence from liberals.

Not a freaking peep.

Comey and McCabe Aired Trump-Russia Claims Months Before Launch of Crossfire Hurricane
BY IVAN PENTCHOUKOV
December 17, 2019 Updated: December 18, 2019Share
The two top officials running the FBI in the spring of 2016 informed Attorney General Loretta Lynch of intelligence they received linking the Russian government to Trump 2016 presidential campaign associate Carter Page months before the bureau formally launched the investigation into the Trump campaign, according to the report on the FBI’s surveillance of Page released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) watchdog last week.

Lynch told DOJ Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz that in the spring of 2016 FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe pulled her aside after a weekly meeting at FBI headquarters and shared information about Page that Lynch believed they learned from a member of the intelligence community.

“According to Lynch, Comey and McCabe provided her with information indicating that Russian intelligence reportedly planned to use Page for information and to develop other contacts in the United States, and that they were interested in his affiliation with the campaign,” the report, released by the DOJ IG on Dec. 9, states.

The timing of the encounter between Lynch, Comey, and McCabe raises questions about what actions the nation’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies took in connection to the Trump campaign before formally opening a counterintelligence investigation—codenamed Crossfire Hurricane—on July 31, 2016.

Coinciding with the timing of the Lynch-Comey conversation, the FBI began monitoring Page as early as April 6, 2016, when the field office in New York opened a full counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign associate. The field office told the inspector general that the investigation was opened because of Page’s contacts with Russian intelligence officers and because Page told Russian officials that he was one of the unnamed witnesses in a U.S. indictment of Russian intelligence officers.

The New York field office monitored Page to see if Russian intelligence officers would contact him again, according to the report. An FBI counterintelligence officer told the IG that she drafted national security letters to obtain Page’s cell phone numbers and residence information.

The findings of the inspector general confirm the claim by House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who told The Epoch Times in October that there is evidence the Trump campaign was being investigated long before the FBI opened a formal probe in late July 2016.

“There are many indications that surveillance was being conducted against the Trump campaign before the official opening of the investigation,” Jack Langer, the spokesman for Nunes, told The Epoch Times. “If this is the case, we want to know what exactly happened, why it happened, and who ordered it. This is an issue of continuing concern to Intelligence Committee Republicans.”

Comey and McCabe both told the inspector general that they do not remember briefing Lynch about Carter Page in the spring of 2016. Comey said he did not become aware of Page until mid-2016; McCabe said he was not aware that the New York field office was investigating Page, according to the report.

Comey’s lack of recollection is notable because the New York field office provided information to the FBI headquarters to be used for a “director’s note” and a separate “Director’s Brief” to be held on April 27, 2016, according to a footnote in the IG report. The inspector general noted that investigators were unable to question Comey on the matter because he declined to have his security clearance reinstated.

Comey and McCabe told Lynch they were considering providing a defensive briefing to the Trump campaign, but Lynch believed the possibility was “preliminary” and “something that might happen down the road,” the report states. The FBI never provided the defensive briefing, according to the report.
