Most poor people In the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Nothing burger.

More burgers for hungry children!!!

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

You think you need to take even more of my money to do that? I sure do give a lot already.

If more is needed because kids are hungry ....should we use tax dollars for that?

Poor people are not struggling enough to warrant more of my money being seized by the government. We have some of the most comfortable poor in the world. If you can't sort out the handouts poor people need with the trillions in taxes already being seized then maybe the solution isn't to take more. Maybe throwing money at people that don't know how to manage their money isn't going to help.

So your answer is no then

Do you think we should just eliminate welfare and food stamps altogether?

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

So your answer is no then

You don't understand that your solution of taking more of my money isn't going to fix the problem of poor people not knowing how to manage money. There is plenty of money floating around. The problem is their ignorance, not a lack of money. Giving them more money to waste isn't going to increase their savings.

I have answered this question at least three times in this thread. Do you know how to read?

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

So do you have any clear disagreements with anything I've said? I'd love to flesh them out.

Yes, I already mentioned it.

Yes, I already mentioned it.

Oh, okay. Just for the record, what do you know about my situation and what I have or haven't had to overcome in my life?

I will assume your answer is no. You think welfare should be less. You dont know how much less or the requirements for making it less....just less. And this is based on your general feelings and observations. Right?

The largest demographic of poor people are children, yeah, they keep on making the same bad judgement calls you claim justified their misery.

The solution is to throw more money at their financially ignorant parents?

Who is throwing money at parents?

And, when you start out life 5 steps behind those who are not poor, it is difficult to catch up. The whole "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is a feel good bromide, but it ignores the systemic disadvantages it takes for someone to pull out of poverty.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Who is throwing money at parents?

How do we keep children fed and how much of my money will you need to achieve that goal?

How do we end poverty and how much of my money do you require?

Are you afraid your money, your penies will buy a kid a meal? How generous of you...I raised four kids and helped other kids in need over the last 36 years and I never once gave a **** about who got the peanut butter or who had the ham sandwiches...Now that I am old and retired I miss it. I miss getting to work because my body is old and broken and that I became poorer because of it.I miss getting to have kids to exist with. I don't care if they be poor or rich..I don't care if I share it has never hurt me as a human...

You didn't answer either of my questions.

Your solution so far seems to give them less money.

Your argument is we should spend less on the poor.

Defend how this wi make the problem better

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Your post takes me back to Reagan and the “welfare queens” and “strapping young bucks.” Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I thought we had gotten past that bigotry, but glad to see that someone is keeping the old traditions alive.

Entitled Morons Unite!

What! Are you actually going to deny the existence of "Welfare Queens" and the "Young Bucks" (Black men that are proud of and brag about the number of fatherless kids they produce). Reagan had the balls to speak the truth and it still exists today.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

I don't think there is a solution to poverty. I just want to keep as much of the money I earned as possible.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

There are no answers for people like you.

Oh, okay.

Re: Most poor people in the U.S are their own worst enemies and deserve none of my pity

Then why not eliminate welfare altogether. You seem to have a appropriate level for welfare in mind. It is less that what we have now but not zero. This level is based on feelings you have seeing some poor people with nice things.

Am I right so far?
