We have over 7,600 deaths and over 300,000 cases and that is doing well? We are short on testing, PPE's and ventilators and that is doing well? Trump and the Feds have backed up and let the whole thing fall onto the shoulders of the states and the governors and that is doing well? We have twice the known cases as any other country in the world and yet we are late to the game because the Trump administration and their propaganda machine in Fox News told us that it was all alarmest to start with and just an attempt by the Dems to hurt Trump. So instead of hitting the gas pedal at the beginning and getting ahead of this virus we are constantly playing catch up and this is doing well? And not forcing a Federal stay at home ban on all states using medical aide as a lever to stop the spread as quickly as we can is doing well? We could have reached the peak earlier and be on the other side with the numbefr of cases and deaths diminishing, but here we are and the president says they are doing well. I do not think so, do you?

It’s 10,300 deaths, but who’s counting? I mean it’s just over three 9/11’s, that’s all.

I smell another Dem campaign ad that will make Trump cry worse than the last one...

All of this is Monday morning quarterbacking. If 1,000 people died, you still would be posting the same thing.

Again, you have to look at this from a STATE-STATE LEVEL, not a national level. Almost half of these deaths are coming from New York. Are you going to hold accountable the governor of New York? The Mayor? Andrew Cuomo seems more concerned going on CNN talking to his brother or wearing nipple rings.

Washington state, for example, has seen a curve. They used to be #1 in COVID-19 cases, now they have dropped to #10. California and Texas are bigger states than New York yet haven't gone past $1k deaths.

I think President Trump has done a great job given the circumstances.

He's just doing what he always does. Branding, lying and trying to talk his way out of it.

Hell, even US banks fell for it for decades. Before they learned to never give him another penny of course.

He needs his daddy.

These are all exogenous factors that Trump had no control of. We are already seeing thee recovery. The stock market is up big today. Everyone loves a comeback story.

Oh this is a state to state Pandemic. Gotcha.

The Trump Administration screwed the pooch with the lack of testing. No one can deny that.

It is. The response in New York should be different in Wyoming. In Wyoming, for example, you will probably see more mule deer than people.

Response? You need to be able to test to have a response.

Half the cases and deaths are in blue state NY.
Ask yourself why that is.

On March 10th, less than a month ago...NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio discusses the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the city and says the city cannot shut down due to undue fear.

Shelter in place order came too late for a city with a crowded demographic such as NY. Plus, enforcement of the order is sorely lacking. Today, Gov Cuomo, showed huge numbers of people ignoring stay at home orders and walking about Union Station and various parks throughout the city.

Maybe if Trump had not told the entire country that there were ony 15 cases and soon there would be none, more might have been done right away don't you think? Maybe if at the beginning Fox News would have reported how serious the virus was instead of backing Trump's idea that it was all about the Dems trying to hurt trump's reelection things might have gotten started to mitigate the virus sooner don't you think. We now know that Trump had been told as early as in December that the virus could be serious and planning might have gotten started soonere don't you think? You can excuse Trump as much as you want as a True Trumpster will, but it will not change the history of this virus and how Trump's reacation slowed the process and lead to what his happening now in our country.

A lot of the posters on this forum most likely suffer from a mild case of autism. They only see complex issues like this in a black and white perspective. They simply cannot comprehend this issue so automatically blame Trump for everything in their life.

For many, the enemy is in their head.

During that time, Washington and California did not issue a stay-in order. Washington is a liberal state. It was the first state hit hard by covid-19. The governor didn't issue a stay in order until Mid-March.

If you are going to Trump/Foxnews didn't take this disease seriously enough, then are omitting that the majority of this country, elected officials (Democrat and Republicans) and the majority of the world didn't take it serious enough.

People like Trump are why it's a terrible idea to ever let people grade themselves.

Again, New York is the main problem. If you take New York out of the equation, the numbers don't look bad.

New York just makes up a very small slice of America.

huge. but i do agree that Trump is a flaccid leader...

This Monday morning quarterbacking is really getting old.

What you mean is you do not want anyone pointing out all of the really stupid mistakes Trump made that lead to where we are today. He had his intelligence agencies telling him how serious this was as early as December, but his election was more important than a "few" people dying. Now he wants all of the trumpsters to go back and change history or at least make people think it is Monday morning quarterbacking, it is not. And the governors did not know the extent of the seriousness that this virus created until too late and that is due to Trump saying it was a nothing burger. You can write what you want, but you can not change history.

New York just makes up a very small slice of America.

The problem is that New York is just the tip of the spear. The rest of the country, see Atlanta, NewOrleans, Chicago, Seattle and many others are the next hot spots and it will continue to spread due to the GOP governors that are not willing to listen to Medical advise to shut things down. In many of those states there is an ever increasing number of cases.

Nobody else has ever done better in an outbreak of this scale.
