Well one thing is certain: Trump will be more than a paragraph in future history books. However this crisis turns out, whether he is eventually seen as a hero or an idiot, he will be more famous than most presidents.

Obama will be remembered as the first black president, not for anything he did. G.W.Bush will be remembered for the stupid Iraq war. Clinton for his cigars.

But Trump will be gigantic, all because of the coronavirus.

and being a Mafia like Boss elected by fake Christians.

yeah, it will be a big story.

It is best that you are not writing our history books.

It's okay with me if he shares the history books with the likes of John Wilkes Booth, Mark David Chapman, John Hinckley and Timothy McVeigh. He'll be compared for all eternity to Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Josef Mengele.

Just something to keep in mind: the last four years has been a week-by-week royal rumble and nobody should figure be trying to figure out how it will end, even on January 19, 2021 with a Biden Presidency. For all we know, Donald could erupt during Joe's swearing in ceremony or just walk out right in the middle of the address.

So just hold on to the "this is what people will remember Trump for" takes, because the man is trying really hard for us to not come away with anything resembling a coherent thought or memory other than it seeming like a bad acid trip.

FFS, concentrate on staying alive rather than deflecting for the precious.

Obama as a president was more of a gimmick. He conducted beer summits, did cash for clunkers and a lot of other things that amounted to a big fat nothingburger. He was the president that had to do the walk of shame. America was not satisfied with his performance. It left us wanting more.

Personally I felt greatly dissatisfied with Obama. Now I know how Michelle feels on a nightly basis.

It wasn't Obama's fault. He didn't have a crisis.

He did have a crisis and failed miserably. Just put a giant band-aid on the economy. The problems are resurfacing today.

You are correct, each time we say, "There's no way trump could do anything more insane", trump responds: "Hold my diet Pepsi!".

If Obama could have run against trump, he would have won.

Geez...Obama won't be remembered for getting Osama bin Laden, the biggest terrorist in history? He won't be remembered for Obamacare, the most significant domestic legislation since LBJ and the Great Society?

I don't claim to be a massive fan of Obama. Too much of a centrist like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. However, you obviously have little sense of history.

Well Obama will be remembered for more than just being black. He has a whole healthcare system name after him and he killed Bin Laden

Yeah, that is why he was elected twice and is still considered the most influential man in America

Are you seriously putting President Trump in the same league as Hitler and Mengele? Seriously? When I read that sentence, I couldn't make up my mind whether you wrote it as an example of extreme ignorance and stupidity, or if you just wanted someone to react to it. Well, if it was the latter, you win, because I cannot not comment on such an....I am lost for the appropriate words here...idea. Please give examples of how President Trump should share the history books with Mengele...you know, things like medically experimenting on children, sewing them together, the total evil of Mengele's character.

Jeez, Obama isn't Jesus. Tell me concrete things Obama did that make him the most influential man in America. Things that are tangible.

Did Obama walk on Water? Heal the Blind? Heal a Leper?

I am telling what he is considered, not why he is considered. BTW most admired, not most influential. Does not mean he is a God nor does it mean he is a super hero. Just not piss poor like you want to believe

Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied this year as the most admired man. It is Obama's 12th time in the top spot versus the first for Trump. Michelle Obama is the most admired woman for the second year in a row.

Obama, Trump Tie as Most Admired Man in 2019

Clinton for his cigars.

Are you sure that's what he'll be known for?(LOL)

No.... Obamacare has imploded a long time ago(LOL)

He did have a crisis and failed miserably. Just put a giant band-aid on the economy. The problems are resurfacing today.

Obama fixed the economy after Dubya crashed it with typical Republican voodoo economics. Trump came in and crashed it again with the same techniques (draining the swamp lol).

Obama managed this while passing ACA, which as mentioned above, was the most significant legislation in a generation. And he killed Bin Ladin. History will be kind to him, his predecessor and successor not so much.

No.... Obamacare has imploded a long time ago(LOL)

No, the dumb republicans could not repeal and replace. Obamacare is alive, not well because trump is constantly trying to kill it. BTW, why would you be happy about a healthcare act that provides health insurance to millions of Americans failing? You are an evil person

Relax....

I was just being sarcastic

Yes, Obamacare is alive after supposedly imploding a long.... time ago

I want real HC reform however

I pretty much agree with this. Good, bad or indifferent, Trump will be known because of this pandemic and perhaps, nothing else. Yeah, Obama as the first black president, nothing else. G.W. Bush for having 9-11 occur. The wars will probably be a footnote or listed as a response to 9-11. They really haven't been major wars much like WWII, Korea or Vietnam. Perhaps like Bosnia and Kosovo with Bill Clinton is remembered and Libya with Obama. I think Bill Clinton will be remembered in a good light. Impeachment another footnote.

History is hard to tell as so much depends on who writes it. Presidents have been seen in entirely a different light 20-30 years after they left office than while they were president. Truman's public approval was down to 27% in 1952, ranked down their next to Hoover. Now historians rank him as a near great president somewhere between 5 and 8. Eisenhower was another, ranked 21st out of 31 presidents left office, he has climbed up to number 6 out of 44 as more and more stuff becomes declassified and known about his presidency.

I think one needs to remember is that historians tell you that they need at least 20 years after a president leaves office to rank them fairly accurately. This gives them time to see how any president's policies affected the nation in the long term, into the future. 30 years after is more or less ideal. The 20-30 years also gives it time for the partisanship to abet some.
