Coca Cola and Pepsi have aluminium cans for 400 ml.

So Coca Cola and Pepsi must sell drinks in 1 and 2 litres aluminium cans only. Millions of plastic bottles used by Coca and Pepsi every month will be stopped.

All the talks of plastic pollution worldwide. Giant companies supported by governments/parliament

Aluminium, steel, metals are easily recycled (melted into new products). That is giant industry worldwide. It's clean also. Look at all those steel and metals everywhere near you.

I am saying world governments/parliaments are getting useless. They just talk about plastic pollution etc.. on high profile venues but they allow giant companies and billionaires to earn multi-billion dollars profits by endangering Earth.

Such is the nature of multinational globalists and their political lackeys.

I remember when we used to return bottles to the store.

It is easy to recycles metals (aluminium etc..). Melt them and use them.

This is a discussion. Plastic pollution is BIG with governments. Also those Coca Cola and Pepsi mangers who get $500,000/year, why can't they use their heads when they have 400 ml cans.

Our welfare clause is General and we have a Commerce Clause in particular which implies market friendly public policies which may be taxed for general Government revenue.

Advancing industrial automation more, could enable better repurposing of plastics until we develop better recycling technologies. Some plastics could be used for structural forms of reinforcement in earthquake prone areas, as just one example of repurposing. There is no need for any plastics to go to a landfill.

Because of costs..

I remember when we used to return bottles to the store.

As a kid, there was good pocket money to be had by collecting and returning deposit bottles....2cents for regular serving and a nickel for quart bottles.

The issue isn't the use of plastic bottles. The issue is the general public throwing them away instead of recycling. The blame is on the consumer not the manufacturer.

By your sig I see that you do know how to provide links to news stories, so why are you refusing to do so for this one?

It sounded like a fact claim when you said "So Coca Cola and Pepsi must sell drinks in 1 and 2 litres aluminium cans only".

I'm fine with ditching plastic coke bottles. Go back to returnables.

They would lose my limited business. The only time I drink coke is when we are traveling. I can't wrap my head around having a liter can in the car. Very unpractical, worse for the 2L. How does that even work? Can't reseal it, so you throw away the unused portion?

I think your dad might be misremembering. I've never seen a 3 liter glass bottle of pop. In fact I've only seen one soda company even use plastic bottles that big -- Stars & Stripes.

ETA: After a little research I was able to find 3 liter bottles of coke but only in plastic, not glass.

You do know plastic bottles are recyclable.

Right?
