Food for Truckers

Many truckers I know already have a fridge and microwave in their tractors because they are used to driving and not stopping to eat at a restaurant. My son had his computer and game consoles when he drove long haul..

During this virus crisis in America, our loyal non stop Truckers are working to keep our groceries on the table. Problem is, our restaurants across this country are drive through only.

Ever tried to wiggle an 18 wheeler in a drive through? Neither have they.

So most are running with convenience store and gas station foods to keep on the job. Cold week old burgers and Chicken wraps only go so far.

Issues they are dealing with currently.

1. No meals while on the road
2. Closing of Truck stops for bathrooms, food, and other amenities
3. Getting ticketed for parking because more Trucks are on the road and finding places to park is becoming problematic
4. Exposure to the virus as the average age is between 55 and 61
5. Closing of Restaurants across the country
6. No speedy Government response
7. 4 hour waits to load and unload

During this pandemic, my family has been hit like every other American. We are all out of work right now but we want to get involved and give something back.

I live in Monroe North Carolina about 30 miles from one of the largest South Eastern trucking hub located in Pageland SC. Its the Walmart Distribution Center.

160 State Rd S-13-682, Pageland, SC 29728

Most of these guys are 3rd party carriers.

We need help with funds to buy food, paper plates, Ice, Drinks, napkins, paper goods, and plastic ware. Nothing donated goes to us. Everything goes to the Truckers.

We have a truck, trailer, commercial smoker, two commercial tents, and a family of 5 willing to spend as much time providing hot meals to our Truckers as long as the funds can provide.

We will be providing videos daily of the Truckers giving their thanks to everyone for helping out.

If you can help, we appreciate your concern. If anyone has any ideas or needs to speak with me directly please don't hesitate to call.

Thank you all for any donations you may consider.

Thanks for thinking of us...it is well appreciated, yet there are countless others working through this time, also. Especially the doctors, nurses, ems, first responders and the like....they are on the front lines. I drive east of the Mississippi down to Texas, pull a flatbed and I can say there are many businesses still open and running. Food for truckers has always been a problem, but even moreso in these times....I just eat what I can get and keep going...no rest for the weary, lol.

I worry about the virus, keep my distance from others and no longer shoot the breeze with others....just get it done and move on. Sometimes I feel like I wash my hands more than a surgeon, lol. I love the lighter than usual traffic, as there are many less idiots on the road....makes my job much more easy and safe. I sincerely appreciate all of your efforts in these trying times, and may God bless you and yours.

Just donated, hope it helps. You’re doing a good thing, brother.

Makes it feel even better right after you get dissed by a dumb-ass cultist.

Rulebulgarian put his money where his mouth is and ponied up to help the cause even thought we may be political opposites.

And you come in here and try and shame the man for it?

He's more of a man than you could ever hope to be.

Or hijacking threads still whining about your orange man bad complex because your need to regurgitate your Trumpism's is obviously much more important that any ole Trucker so far beneath your interest.

If you wanted a safe space, you should have posted this in off-topic. Being in GP, it's fair game for me to point out some hard truths to you. One of those truths is that we would not be in this mess if morons had not elected a corrupt incompetent president.

You guys make this world go round my friend. Without trucks we don't eat. Our part is minuscule in comparison. I hope more people will join in and help feed you guys. Its the very least we could all be doing.

Plus I get to meet some of America's finest. I am glad to hear some of the traffic problems have diminished. I am sure that helps a lot. If you know of a large trucking hub in your part of the world list it here. Our church decided to get involved and Mike Rowe is also chiming in. Who knows how many will take up the task and participate.

Yeah, we got it. Trump created the Corona Virus. We know. Now you can move on to all the other threads that are fair game and do what you do best.

No, he's just dishonest and incredibly incompetent, which is exactly what we've been telling you for three years.

But, hey, at least I can get a kick out of watching Trumpers pretend they care about all Americans, now that they've set the place on fire.

You know what we get a kick out of?

Trump acting first to ban travel from China because of the virus, you call him a racist.

A month later Pelosi is in Chinatown asking everyone in the community to join her, and thats acceptable.

The hypocrisy is overwhelming. This is why you have no credibility.

The guy is doing something good for others. Putting aside political differences to contribute is a no brainer.

Most truck stops have fast food restaurants or greasy spoon kind, if you know what I mean. The best and healthy thing to do from a truckers standpoint is to bring your own food, if you have a refrigerator and microwave in your truck....it will be much healthier, anyways. I do both, as I liked to go in and eat and socialize with other drivers, which is healthy in and of itself, for we spend too much time alone driving all the time. Trucking is not like any other job I have had in my lifetime....it's more a lifestyle....long hours, away from home and family, etc. Self motivation is needed in this endeavor. Say, you leave home for vacation and drive straight through to Florida, driving 11 hours straight....remember how you felt the next morning?....well turn around and do the same thing the next day and the next, and the next....you get the idea. That is truck driving in a nutshell. Enough of my soapbox....just a quick snapshot for the uninformed.

I pull a flatbed trailer, and go to many jobsites and businesses and not any central kind of hub of that sort. They must really need truck drivers today, for over the last few years they have brought in many foreigners to drive that cannot speak english. Many can't drive a truck for the life of them....I would say be careful out there.

Don't worry, the House Democrats will impeach Trump for incompetence in handling the virus, lol. Politicizing a deadly virus....this is even worse than "russia collusion" and "ukraine 2.0".....it is incredulous how demented people can act towards others in a time of peril....wow!!

The project, launched by the U.S. Agency for International Development in 2009, identified 1,200 different viruses that had the potential to erupt into pandemics, including more than 160 novel coronaviruses. The initiative, called PREDICT, also trained and supported staff in 60 foreign laboratories — including the Wuhan lab that identified SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Field work ceased when the funding ran out in September, and organizations that worked on the PREDICT program laid off dozens of scientists and analysts, said Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, a key player in the program.

So, don't worry. I'm sure there is still a way to blame Obama for Truckers not having food or a clean place to take a ****.

The day Pelosi was in Chinatown Trump was tweeting, ""The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA."

Uh, what part of his travel ban did not work escapes you?

Uh, what part of his travel ban did not work escapes you?

What part of Trump doing something to help stop the spread while Pelosi was encouraging people to mingle by the thousands did you not get?

Oh, I just got it. You actually thought the only reason the virus got to the US is Trump is president.

The Liberal left are the only people that actually think allowing millions of infected people into the US would have not had any effect.

Yeah, they are the most ignorant people on the planet.

I love the part about the day Pelosi was in Chinatown encouraging thousands to come out of their homes and mingle with everyone like it doesn't mean anything

Even as the world burns...the old "leftist" canard still clings like dingleberries after a paperless ****.

It means that Pelosi, just like Trump, was blowing smoke.

Did he stay for 10 consecutive days 24 hours nonstop (except for trying to find a bathroom and/or getting a splash of diesel) in his "quarters" which by law would be even too small for an inmate?

He was usually on the road 28 days a month for seven years. Now he just does yard jockeying.

So, again, slightly adjusted ... "Did he stay for 28 consecutive days 24 hours nonstop (except for trying to find a bathroom and/or getting a splash of diesel) in his "quarters" which by law would be even too small for an inmate?"

Open road by day, close quarters by night. I hate to say this but a lot of us guys like it that way. I'm not a trucker but I certainly spend enough days on the road and nights alone in a hotel room to get it.

One thing I could not deal with is the public shower thing. Yuck.
