I’m spending a lot of time at home so I could use a new TV!
 
I think the lawn and garden centers are supposed to start their black friday sales this week. Pretty awesome since I go through a couple hundred bags of mulch a year at the crib. Technically I could get that city mulch for free, but its crap.
 
Maybe a new laptop for me. I'm thinking something cheap. Probably made in a Chinese sweatshop by child slave labor with stolen IPR. Plus a big sale and I get it practically for free.

I need many big bags of soil, and Lowe's has them. But my store's website says there is no pickup and also no delivery. County order is to stay home unless an activity is essential, so what am I supposed to do?

Our lawn and garden centers are essential services under the Stay at Home Order (I poop you not). It just means you have to load them yourself. I will be making a lot of ten bags a pop trips to the register on the cart with the squeeky wheel over the coming couple weeks instead of just paying at the register and taking the receipt out to the pick up lane for them to load it.

Yes, that's what I have to do, and I may try. I keep checking the new county regs but don't think--as much as I need it!--that my buying it is an "essential" trip out in public. :(

Buy a thing of bleach or toilet paper while you are there and say that is what you went to Lowes for and got a few extra things while there :coffeepap

I've just checked online, and my two stores have both bleach and toilet paper. Good heavenly days, $4.48 for a bottle of bleach.

That is probably the outdoor bleach which is a little different than just normal laundry bleach. Supposedly more eco friendly. I just use regular bleach outdoors when I am defunking a brick wall or something.

Alas, my county serves seven smaller ones. But I did send my kids to Lowe's, and the TP and bleach the website said was available no longer is. When she asked an employee, she was told that if she didn't see a huge pallet of TP at the entrance, they were already out.

I am very concerned about an uptick in child abuse and domestic violence and read this morning (as I'd read for the past several days in UK publications) at the NY Post about a young father who killed his family over his virus fears.

But I myself am just fine and was thinking just last night as I stood on the porch how lucky I am to live in the country...and to have the Internet too.
 
is there a stock i can buy for body bags? Maybe i should ask your president, he probably supports the idea.
 
ohh but how the americans love to knock the chinese down when it comes to trade wars, yet they stock their shelves with 90% of chinese stuff. I wonder what will happen when they don't let these containers into their shipping yards because of fears for covid, and have to quarantine for another 14 days. i think your shelves will be bare. I think time will be coming when america will have to start making their own computer, and sell it for $10,000 because the labour rate is so high, yep yep, its coming, nothing comes for free these days, and a pair of runners for $400. YIKES i love super inflation. I am sure the utility companies will have to adjust their rates, making homeowners go bankrupt, and those are the facts. Couldn't have happened to a nicer country, enjoy it!

I told my significant other that if the internet goes out, I would probably end up killing somebody, not my family, but a neighbor as they keep having parties through this. I was kidding (half).

Then last Thursday I wake up to no electricity in the house which means no internet. I go outside and see nobody has electricity.

So I ask a neighbor and she said they supposedly left a notice on my door that they would be working on the lines in the area. They left no such notice.

Luckily the power came back on by 3PM, but it was a taste of how things would be locked in the house with no type of entertainment of any kind.

Losing the Internet would be terrible for me. I much prefer it to TV. Without either, I'd surely catch up on my rest. I'd like to say that I'd become a great housecleaner, but this is probably a lie. :3oops:

I only have Netflix so I need the internet for everything.
