With this virus thing going and so many businesses being shut down, it begs this question. How many non essential federal employees are out of a job and not being paid.

Inquiring minds would like to know.

None

You can keep wondering as well with state and local Gov ?

It's amazing what you can do on the Tax payers dime

Why are you so interested in killing the economy?

How many non essential

This is important

"Essential" employees are nothing but someones opinion on what that really means?

Why are you so interested in a Nanny state?

It is not "nanny state," it is economics 101... so again, why are you so interested in seeing the economy collapse? (Until you answer we will note your cowardice.)

Ask Trump.

I take it you didn't bother with researching the subject and expect others to do that work to get the answer for you because you're too lazy to do your own homework. So much for an inquiring mind.

Hell, even the military is to a large degree standing down.

The New Chinese Empire might get the idea that now is a good time to make a move.

Fed gov employees produce NOTHING so if they are not payed no one will miss anything.

First, you need to produce something of evidence to suggest that federal government employees produce (or do) nothing.

Second, they are still participants in the economy. If they are not paid they have nothing to put into the economy.

.

Inquiring minds would have gone and found out instead of asking DP to do their homework.

Are you required to start a particular number of useless threads each day or something?

Smart.

Make this about the federal government as you take a federal government $handout$.

None. It may take a doubling of the federal work force just to have enough government workers patrolling the streets enforcing government bans on movement. Go figure.

That was an excellent job of watering down a "Nanny state"

The only way to save the economy and the country economically is to get the country back to work before its too far gone. A relief bill is ok, althought adding pork for ideological crap is just wrong but that's politics. Shameful our politicians are that bad. If the country goes too far down the nanny state hole we may not be able to pull out of it. Democrats already want more money for "relief" but the plan we just passed hasn't even reached the people yet. Democrats for making the country dependent upon the government, they always are.
At some point we have to go back to jobs, schools, recreational passtimes. Find a damn treament, that's the cure for the whole mess.
I still say sometime in the whole mess seems odd. We are panicky worldwide over COVID 19 with 700,000 cases and yet we have tens of millions of cases of influenza just in the USA and nearly 50,000 deaths. Whey don't blink an eye at the Flu. Why such a difference? Something we aren't being told?

Um... I guess you would have to believe in the Fed income tax for that to actually happen?

No, that is your silly bumper sticker thinking mentality showing again.

Back the question you continually run away from... why are you so interested in seeing the economy collapse?

How about the vain results of the DOE for example?

They also contribute to our 17th in the world at best EDUCATION system no?

This is just a deflection by you

I have no control of this.

I think your deflection from the 2.2 TRILLION NANNY STATE point I made was much more interesting(wink)

I think the argument is the federal employees don't create a product for sale or use. None of the government agencies produce a for profit service or consumer product. Even the Post Office is not profitable. Internet mail killed that.
Most would probably argue that government work rolls are overstaffed and underperforming. Ever wait in one of those lines for a license or to get a permit for anything? Wow!

Why are you so interested in killing the economy?

What can we do to save the economy? Shut down more businesses and spend trillions more in free limitless government money to give to tens of millions who need the money to pay their bills?

In other words, you have no answer for the economy and are stuck in bumper sticker thinking world. We get it.
