History
The disease was first encountered in 1962, in the Bolivian village of San Joaquín, hence the name "Bolivian" Hemorrhagic Fever. When initial investigations failed to find an arthropod carrier, other sources were sought before finally determining that the disease was carried by infected mice. Although mosquitoes were not the cause as originally suspected, the extermination of mosquitoes using DDT to prevent malaria proved to be indirectly responsible for the outbreak in that the accumulation of DDT in various animals along the food chain led to a shortage of cats in the village; subsequently, a mouse plague erupted in the village, leading to an epidemic.

Now that is an unforeseen result - DDT killed cats, which allowed the mouse population to grow, which brought the virus into the local village.

This whole FAKE NEWS!! schtick is doing little for the right side of the political spectrum. It is doing little more than revealing a state of paranoia in regards to accepting that their Glorious Leader is a man with some serious mental issues, a man who lies on a daily basis, a man who is afraid to reveal his personal wealth and sources of income, a man who rather obviously prefers those who praise him over those who provide upsetting information.

Nah, The real problem isn't whats in your heart, its whats lacking in your brain. Most people don't fall into your safe spaces, coloring books, and free puppy ideas. They just call it like they see it.

You thought this is something new huh. These inevitable winds of change have been around for decades. Its usually from people suffering from low esteem who need to blame everything on society. Everything hurts their feelings so they feel the need to be social warriors and think by pointing out how everyone else is racist makes them woke like they have some extra perceived awareness of issues concerning social and racial justice, conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities should be eliminated.

This is nothing but woke culture. A kind of vigilance against misogyny, racism, and other forms of inequality expressed in art, entertainment, and everyday life. Everyone is forced to applaud the same politically correct television shows and cheer for the same politically correct heroes. “And if you refuse to join the chorus of approval you will be tagged a racist or a misogynist.

All it really is, is willingly censoring people, punishing voices, obstructing opinions and blocking viewpoints. But one day hopefully, you'll grow out of it like most do.

It appears that many people get this virus and never see the doc because the symptoms are mild. It also seems that younger children do not even get it at all for reason(s) as yet unknown. If younger humans don't get it, that has to mean they have a natural immunity and I think it is highly possible that many other people who are not younger also have immunity. Therefore, we have a large segment of the population who:
A.) will not get infected, thereby being immune
B.) have been infected and fought it off, thereby being immune to this same strain

The CDC estimates that .01 percent dies from the flu every year. That is roughly 30,000 plus people. One has to wonder how many flu deaths will be put down as being from the China virus this year. I would look for the CDC death rate from the common flu this year will be WAY low, with the deaths being chalked up to the China virus.

As for deaths of political leaders I would expect some as they are older and more prone to dying anyway. Which brings me to the point that if an old codger dies of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, cancer AND they find a small amount of COVID in his blood stream, it will be chalked up to the China virus.

Your list was impressive and proves that it is and always has bee customary to name something after where it came from and does not even include these MAJOR pandemics since 1889:

• 1889 Russian flu pandemic: About 1 million flu deaths
• 1918 Spanish flu pandemic: Over 40 to 50 million flu deaths, including about 675,000 in the United States. The flu infected over half of the world's population by the end of this pandemic.
• 1957 Asian flu pandemic: Over 1 million flu deaths, including about 69,800 in the United States
• 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemic: About 1 to 3 million flu deaths
