I thought this summarized an issue, Biden's challenge to get young voters, nicely:

Max Berger, a former aide on Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign, said Biden suffers from a trust deficit with young voters who worry he doesn’t understand their problems and is resistant to ideas that match their scale, whether it’s the Green New Deal or eliminating student debt.

“My hope is they're smart enough to realize it's not a marketing problem, it's a product problem. They're selling the wrong product,” he said. “When he says ‘I think Republicans will go back to normal,’ young people are like: Are you insane?”

Berger said Democrats look like two parties — an older moderate one represented by Clinton and Biden, and a younger progressive party that wants leaders like Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. He said that if Biden wants to excite the younger wing, he needs to make policy concessions to the ideas that motivate them and treat them like a coalition partner in a parliamentary system.

“If you're under 35 you grew up under a botched war of choice, a recession, the Trump administration and now a pandemic and potentially another recession,” Berger said. “The expectation of the status quo does not make any sense if you're under 35.

Democrats sound the alarm on Joe Biden'''s young voter problem

It's okay, with age, wisdom, and experience, they will move away from their belief that the very government monopoly that creates all the problems is the savior, just like most do - hence the age group gap in the first place

The fact is he is more out of touch with young American than Hillary Clinton. The DNC is a great resource for the Republican party.

Werd.

Biden polls much better with younger voters than Trump.

Hillary was polling 6 points ahead the day of the election. Luckily the easily manipulated young minds usually dont show up to vote.

Yep, you keep looking backwards at the last election instead of the next one. :)

And this sums up my opinion of young voters: That they view Biden as the "wrong product" tells me they see absolutely nothing in Joe Biden. Why should they be trusted to coalesce after concessions are made? Will you be happy meeting Joe in the middle, or will you demand more and more until Joe Biden becomes Bernie Sanders?

Your highlighted sentence illustrates lack of knowledge, which is to be expected from people who were in grade school when Biden was in the Senate. Joe Biden - above anyone else - has the ability, demeanor and trust of those on the other side to actually get things done. If anyone can turn around Republicans in Congress it's Joe Biden. Republican voters are another story. Such attitudes are culturally imbedded and can't be changed with executive order.

Let the conspiracy commence!

Yeah, good thing according to your article Biden seems to be taking this seriously

The Biden campaign sees three major differences with Clinton’s 2016 campaign, according to a source familiar with its thinking. The first is that Trump is president, unlike four years ago when many young people were complacent because they assumed he’d lose. The second is that Biden’s 2020 platform is more progressive than Clinton’s was in 2016. And the third is that Biden and Sanders like each other personally, which will make it easier to coalesce.

Biden has sought to address the problem by rolling out two new policy planks last weekend that would benefit young people: Tuition-free public colleges and universities, and allowing Americans to clear out student debt in bankruptcy. At the debate last Sunday, he promised a female vice president.

Hopefully he keeps working on it...

I am glad Biden is (apparently) talking about tuition-free public colleges and NOT about cancelling debt which was a very dumb idea.

Actually polls largely showed her winning the popular vote by under 4%. And she won by 3 million votes, over 2%.

I agree that the Democratic Party should focus on the lowest voter turn-out demographic because they are the loudest whiners of all.
