Bernie and Biden one on one debate tonight

It's not a typical primary when losing the general poses an existential threat to the world. These are different times.

So what do you expect them to do during a primary debate? Hug it out?

Flip a coin. Bernie says he doesn't have one, and asks the moderator for one.

They're both making all kinds of promises that they know they'll never get through congress.

Of all three though, Biden has the most experience at moving legislation through congress.

Then lets continue to have a philosophical debate over what we do going forward - I was enjoying that - not snipe at each other about what we said or did decades ago.

Track records matter, of course they do; they're a relevant part of the overall discussion, and the past is often a reasonably good predictor as to how one will act in the future. Now I would understand giving a pass on one or two things here and there, but when it's such an overwhelming inventory, that's a point of concern as well, and let's keep it real: Biden was doing the same to Sanders on immigration and guns. It's asymmetrical warfare of course, because Biden has far more to atone for.

Biden had some weak debates in the past, but tonight he appears to be very strong. They are talking about climate and fossil fuels now, Biden has it together IMO.

So I take it you support the idea of forcing companies to pay a living wage? Because THAT is why those immigrants are working those jobs.....they are willing to do it for less than those working class Americans are willing to do it for. Unless you do something to change that dynamic, nothing is going to change.

How do companies pay for a $15 minimum wage? Where is the cost passed on?

He does. Bernie is better. Both are good.

I agree both are good, but Bernie is better is just your opinion. I do respect your opinion though. Biden is the better candidate to win this election.

If this debate were, who is better? Big Bernie win.

It's not. It's "is Biden so bad we can't afford to vote for him, even as conservative Democrats?" No. Biden is strongly passing the 'good enough' standard. And since those voters are almost impossible for Bernie to win over, not many votes are likely to change.

If we go to the Green New Deal, what happens to carbon fuel usage? What happens to automobile, Trains, airplanes, military hardwarde, ships? What powers these modes of transportation? What happens to the people that work in those industries?

Fracking is what has made America the number 1 producer of oil and gas in the world. We don't want to give that up.

I would like to see us a bit less balls to the walls on fracking but I would not be real interested in seeing fracking completely eliminated even as concerned as I am about carbon emission and what it is doing to our environment. I would like to see us ween off of fossil fuels but eliminating fracking entirely is suicidal. We are in fact finally controlling our own destiny with regard to fossil fuels. Did you ever think you would see the day when the Saudi's felt compelled to cut their own throats (price of oil) because of competition? Usually the arguments with that crowd is whether or not to cut production not price.

Plus that is another issue where Bernie runs into the stone wall of the big oil companies. I don't think its realistic to think you are going to eliminate fracking in the face of those characters. You have to be realistic about what you can do and Bernie running around waving his flag might seem entertaining but it won't get much done.

The answers are in the bill.

The Florida primary is coming up this week, I think. lol

Didn't our media praise Saudi Arabia when they finally let women drive? Don't we sell weapons to that dictatorship?

Thats kinda the problem, isn't it? You are basically saying that Americans are supposed the be willing to work for the wages that companies illegally pay immigrants to cut costs. The problem with that is that those Americans will also pay taxes on those wages, which basically puts them in the position of making LESS than the immigrants you are complaining about now.

Should an American working 40 hours a week be able to afford the basics of housing, food, transportation and healthcare?

OK, Moderator redeemed with the Biden question, exposing Biden's attack on Bernie as garbage and hypocritical. All Biden has is a rant about dictators bad.

Didn't Hitler make the trains run on time?

Geezus, they are all over the map again.

What the hell is Biden going on about?

So, Biden wants war with China. It's not allowed to say they have reduced poverty.
