Republicans, you're sort of doomed after trump

Republicans, your fundamental issue is that in a democracy, you are for plutocracy - a small minority taking a vastly oversized share of wealth and power at everyone else's expense.

And that's fundamentally in conflict with that democracy.

So what do you do to win? You lie. You search desperately for any issues you can find voters on. Don't like those pointy headed academics? We're with you! Don't like gun laws? We're on your side! Don't like foreigners? They're DIRTY, keep them out! Don't like people wagging their finger at you for using the wrong word? USE IT ALL YOU WANT!

But that's not enough. What else you got? Well, being on the side of the plutocrats gives you big advantages; they have all the money, so you get a lot from them. The huge corporation media is pretty much on your side also - though you are careful to always say they're against you, to fool people. See 'lie' on the line above.

But maybe that's not enough. What else you got? Well, there is cheating - Gerrymandering, voter purges, and so on.

Really, your next line of defense is to just get rid of democracy itself - but that's something you're not quite ready for. Better to just keep taking over the courts with your judges to 'remake' the constitution away from democracy.

But how are you doing? You're in the minority on everything, and the only reason you have power is not because your corruption is popular, but because of a clown who can get enough votes who you are all dependent on - but he doesn't give a crap about you or your movement, only his own ego and pocketbook. You're a marriage of convenience. And you need him and that makes you weak. He has the most loyalty from your voters of any Republican, and you can't do a damned thing against him. But at some point he won't be in office, and what then?

You're left a shell of a party without the clown, with unpopular ideas, and hard to elect candidates - and every election the demographics get worse for you, and better for Democrats.

Basically, you have almost nothing after trump. No other Republican can become a popular national figure while he hogs the spotlight, and none will be trusted after you all kissed trump's feet and any other body part he told you to.

The vast amount of pot & kettle here is just astounding, much more so than the OP being able to actually find instances of these accusations being legitimate.

Like on what fringe site did you find the position that the inclination that the political right doesn't like foreigners. Because aside from illegal immigrants, all immigrants are completely fine.
This coupled with the fact that almost all of the democrats for this campaign cycle, had no real message aside from "orange man bad", with barely really able to stand on kitchen table issues.

This plutocrat crap is also getting old.

IIRC, there were people at PoliticalForum.com proclaiming back in 2014 I think it was that "there wouldn't be another Republican president for at least 20 years".

That didn't work out for them.

I haven't signed on to my Facebook account since my wife set it up for me in 2008. My school at that time did not want teachers interacting with students on social media so I avoided it entirely.

All his life, Trump has been the guy that cozies up to people of power and influence only because the exposure and publicity he had through his associations with them was completely self-serving. He became friends with politicians in New York that could 'fix' things for him. Bypass filing regulations, overlooking time deadlines, changing building codes, ignoring employment regulations, etc. Trump has no ideologies or principles. He's been nothing more than a narcissistic, greedy man with no concern for anyone but himself his entire life. That's something he wasn't going to change just because he was elected as a man to serve this nation and the way in which he lived his entire life is exactly the type of president he's been.

My wife has no familiarity with political symbols beyond the basic donkey and elephant for the Democrat and Republican parties.

My school does not monitor discussion boards. Though I use my current avatar here on the cover of my "If I Were President" binder and it is fully visible for all to see.
