Debate: Bernie Sanders vs Joe Biden

I mean, as of this post, there aren't six running, and the support those that did run got was abysmal. I'm not sure you have a very strong argument; in fact a few posts ago you insinuated that a man was better to beat Trump than a woman. I kinda have to rest my case.

You have misinterpreted me again. I never said, or even implied that 'a man was better to beat Trump than a woman'. What I said is "people wanted desperately to have a candidate that they're 100% certain will beat Trump and it happens to be Joe Biden. It has nothing to do with gender."

The democratic party is able to pull together for a common goal, egos notwithstanding. The republican party wasn't able to do this in 2015 and coalesce against Trump. They all laughed at Trump, they didn't respect him, they knew he was an ass. But none of them could step aside and support another candidate in order to defeat him as the democrats have done. Ted Cruz had no doubt that he could win. Marco Rubio had a lot of help from the NRA and the Hispanic community and thought he could win. Neither of them had enough humility, patriotism and love of party to be able to say 'it's not my turn, I'll support the other guy'. So they allowed Trump to win by being such narcissistic,
impertinent fools.

The Democrats understand that the party had to come together under one candidate to beat Trump. There's no way this county can survive a second term of him.

What is the problem with people who have a problem with Americans sharing in America's wealth, instead of all of it going to a few powerful people?

Let Bernie lead by example and share his own wealth first.

You're right. But when he does go 'off script', he's still great. I can't think of one thing Biden stands for except bumper sticker party platitudes, status quo (not trump, but the last 40 years of plutocracy), and excuses for supporting corporate interests.

What is the problem with people who have a problem with Americans sharing in America's wealth, instead of all of it going to a few powerful people? Oh, the horror of people not being killed for lack of healthcare in the richest nation on earth - and choosing a more efficient system. People have gone insane attacking that.

Yeah, that sounds awesome. I guess some folks have a real problem with giving back so that all may drink from the well. I can see their argument and it is valid. Myself, even making just a decent living, I still give back to the less fortunate quite generously by anyone's standards. Perhaps it is in the physical make-up, or genetics or DNA, in the uber-rich. Enough is never enough for them. It's not enough for them to own most all of the pie. They want all the pie. Even if it means their neighbor starves.

I don't mean to sound like I am cursing the uber-rich. Truth is, I would love to be one of them. But the good Lord built me different. So, here I am. Just doing my best to live as good as my capabilities will allow me.

Bernie's message tries to demonize the 1%'er's thinking that the other 99% of the people should get behind him. But I'm thinking that close to 30% of the people still believe in the conservative fallacy of trickle-down economics. As poor as they are, they still circle the right-wing wagons around the politicians that serve these rich peoples interests to the detriment of their own. They certainly don't like Bernie's "democratic socialism" message. But they have no problem sending their kids to public schools, or driving on roads or freeways, or calling the fire departments or police. They have no problem cashing their social security check or using medicare at the doctors. And you will never hear them say "democratic socialism." They all just say "socialism" because that just sounds so much more repulsive. Americans hate political "isms" and they love to tie socialism to communism. Ergo, they always call democratic socialism just "socialism." Nobody ever said the were the sharpest tacks in the pack.

I'm not one of that 30% but I do believe that, beyond the burden of taxes all American's have to bear, a person should be allowed to keep all the marbles they have earned. I wish there was a way to formulate a flat tax. It's absolutely pathetic to know that I have paid more takes on my earnings than some of the big corporations have. (If that, in fact, is the truth. That's what Bernie says.)
