Don't forget, Trump fired the US pandemic response team in 2018

Did Trump Fire the US Pandemic Response Team?

He has no one to blame but himself. :thumbdown

We're all good. Trump has made VP Pence our Coronavirus Czar.

Mike Pence is for conversion therapy. Mike Pence said smoking didn’t cause cancer. Mike Pence doesn’t believe climate science. Mike Pence has questioned whether or not condoms worked.

I counted 20 agencies which have pandemic response responsibilities before I quit counting. Obama's pandemic response team appears to have been redundant. We are the best prepared nation on the planet for pandemic response.

He needed that money for himself and other rich people.

He knows more about diseases than anyone else.

Governor Pence's response to HIV was inadequate in the first instance, then he sat on a bubbling crisis until it was a state disaster.

And now pence put drunk ass Larry Kudlow up front on it.

Really? Can we have some of your vaccines then please? Oh, that's right, you don't have one. So, tell us how prepared you think you are.

This is where my focus needs to be, 100% of the time. We need to focus on why ALL of us DEMs are progress—ive, and why ALL of the gops are regressive. Yes, my tune is different after that presser full of lies, blame, and incompetent word salad yesterday.

I want traitor trump to be as successful as he and his RepubLIEkkklansmen wished for Obama during the Ebola crisis. In fact, if I behaved like trump, I’d say TEN times less successful. We must define trump as the clear and present danger NOW, not wait until July.

Yes, Trump is the clear and present danger.

The markets, which have a lot more information at their disposal than you do, completely disagree with you. :)

The markets understand the vaccine hasn't completed trials yet. And the pandemic response team you're nourning had nothing to do with that. The vaccine was developed by private enterprise. The market is reacting to events in China and the disruption of global markets as a result.

Your efforts to minimize this week's collapse on Wall Street are pathetic. We are now below the local maximum in late January 2017. You know why? Because your president is completely incapable of being the leader that he needs to be with crises such as these, refusing to fund the CDC and instead putting Mr. HIV Epidemic in charge of managing censoring news out of the HHS. :laughat:

We've always wondered whether you people would defend your incompetent president even as he botches his response to what may become a literal pandemic. Now we know! :doh

Not true, but then I never expect democrats to tell the truth.

FACT CHECK: No, Trump Did Not 'Fire' Pandemic Specialist or 'Defund' CDC

Responding to a literal fact-check with BREITBART?!?!?

The CDC has always had the ability to respond to any outbreak, and it still does through emergency funding.

Liberals like yourself love to spread lies about being the CDC being gutted.

Even the Associated Press realizes and openly admits the BS lies that people like you are spreading.

Why was the NSC Global Health Security Office formed?

Oh shucks. I thought you were talking about a pandemic response team. Were all those people experts on the market?

I think you must've abandoned that feigned outrage, and you've moved on to another because the first one was so lame.

The CDC was never lacking any financial backing for emergencies and you know it.

You know damn well this is all about the "orange man".

Collectively, warns Jeremy Konyndyk, who led foreign disaster assistance at the U.S. Agency for International Development during the Obama administration, “What this all adds up to is a potentially really concerning rollback of progress on U.S. health security preparedness.”

“It seems to actively unlearn the lessons we learned through very hard experience over the last 15 years,” said Konyndyk, now a senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development. “These moves make us materially less safe. It’s inexplicable.”

The day before news of Ziemer’s exit became public, one of the officials on his team, Luciana Borio, director of medical and biodefense preparedness at the NSC, spoke at a symposium at Emory University to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1918 influenza pandemic. That event killed an estimated 50 million to 100 million people worldwide.

“The threat of pandemic flu is the number one health security concern,” she told the audience. “Are we ready to respond? I fear the answer is no.”
