Is that so? You might want to bone up on what the CDC says. There are just too many unknowns at this point, and a vaccine is up to 18 months away. According to the CDC the mortality rate of the Corona virus is 23 X that of the common flu. 2.3 vs. 0.1. Perhaps this won't be that bad, but worst case scenario is your lungs fill with water or you have organ failure. Could also survive and have permanent organ damage.

Btw love the empathy for the elderly. Elderly parents or relative long gone or you don't give a **** about "old" people? You'll be there sooner than you think. And another group at high risk you didn't mention: health care workers.

Trump really needs to put some distance between himself and the virus. Bull**** will only get him so far. And, bull****, is all Comrade Trump has to offer.

And Trump probably wouldn't have any problem let Pence fall on the sword for him if things go south. He can always just get a new VP running mate.

Just because you chat with Jesus on occasion doesn't necessarily mean you're religious. He could just be unbalanced. Notice the way he's always in Trump's jacket pocket?

No. This was before consulting anyone. He was asked what he did when he found out Russia was meddling and your great leader said he told them to cut it out.

Neither Trump nor Pence have any grasp of science, such as viroloigy, epidemiology, vaccine development, vaccine development, WW2-style mass production of millions of face masks, etc. These are not the guys to lead us through this potential crisis. Dr. Fauci et al should be running this show.

Are these the same folks who are blaming the markets dropping on the democrats and not the coronavirus? Maybe it's people like rush limbaugh who are calling the virus the common cold. Or is it our president himself declaring the virus is under control in the usa. Does any of that make you despair? And no matter how much you don't like it, praying it away won't work. I would suggest medicine be left to medical people and not religious folks. Don't despair. Science will help.

Placing "plague" in quotes is premature. The United States isn't out of the woods; it's only at its entrance. Last month fewer than a dozen folks returning from Wuhan to the States had the virus. A couple of days ago, however, a flight attendant at LAX was diagnosed. This changes everything. (Have you read Hot Zone? Airports are terrific places to expose people to contagious diseases and also biological weapons of terror.)

Don’t believe in prayer. I listen to the cdc. Unfortunately, the president quite explicitly doesn’t heed the cdc since he thinks their advice might spook the stock markets, so he’s taken to just trying to pretend the coronavirus doesn’t exist instead.

Hmm...come to think of it, maybe prayer is the last, best remedy after all.

He ****ed up a response to a health crisis in my state because he refused to act and closed a clinic due to religious reasons. A lot of people died.

Well, not near as many as the result from the common flu. Or the nightly drive-by shootings in cities across America.

That's the confusing part. You got people saying China downplayed the virus and hid actual numbers. We have the president on TV basically telling us, "Move along. Nothing to see here. I'll have my assistant take care of it."

And yet, we see the stock market tumbling, as a result of the virus, (which is a very convenient excuse if you ask me,) and our TV's are plastered 24/7 with the news reporting on it.

Is it a real crisis? Is it a fabricated crisis? Do we act now? Do we roll the dice and maybe just wait to act after it becomes a crisis?

Does a stitch in time really save nine? Can the Packers win next year's Super Bowl? (I know the Packers got nothing to do with this but I wanted to give them a plug anyways.)

Yes, it's a serious crisis, but you can't blame us for not having confidence in people who have earned that doubt, and Pence has a history of ignoring science for politics and/or religion when he faced a health crisis in Indiana.

I'll also admit it a bit personal with me, because Pence's fawning, servile sycophancy to Trump makes me want to puke when I see him on TV. I had to turn him off yesterday.

The only reason Trump put Bornagain Ken in charge and listed a bunch of applicable department heads as a "special team" is because he fired the actual special team. It would be more meaningful if the "special team" was in addition to the actual team of experts we had before.

Regardless Trump kiss's Putin's ass and believes Putin over his intelligence agencies. He said so on live TV. And to this day refuses to believe the Russians meddled in our election.
