Is he going to pray it away? After all I hear from folks on the right on here it's god's curse to humanity.

Be glad it's not Jared.

Thank the Good Lord a leftist isn't in charge. They screw up everything they touch.

Lame excuse for supporting a fat stupid inferior President. We know why you support him.

LOL. If they were in charge they would try to impeach the makers of Corona beer.

I didn't know Mike Pence was a "leftist"

Mike Pence was criticized for his handling of Indiana’s HIV outbreak. He will lead the U.S. coronavirus response.

When President Trump announced that Vice President Pence would lead federal efforts against the spread of the coronavirus, he said Pence was the right person for the task because of his experience.

“He’s got a certain talent for this,” Trump said at a White House briefing about the virus, which has infected nearly five dozen people in the United States so far.

The announcement has cast light on Pence’s record as a lawmaker and his handling of a major public health crisis during his time as governor of Indiana. The worst HIV outbreak in the state’s history happened on his watch in 2015, which critics blamed on Pence’s belated response and his opposition to authorizing a needle-exchange program.

In 2011, as a member of Congress, he voted to cut funding for Planned Parenthood. Two years later, a Planned Parenthood clinic that had been the only HIV-testing center in Scott County, Ind., closed after public health spending cuts . . . Two months passed from the start of the outbreak in 2015 before Pence declared a public state of emergency.

The spread of the disease was attributed to people injecting Opana, an addictive painkiller, with shared needles. But Pence didn’t agree with federal health experts that distributing clean needles was a good idea.

Really? Is that "all you hear" or did you hear it from one person?

The concern I have is that he has a history of letting his religion get in the way of necessary medical decisions.

When Pence WAS in charge during an HIV outbreak, he opposed needle exchanges that work, for prayer that doesn't, and the crisis worsened.

We're in good hands!

Oh crap! The guy who thinks there is no correlation between cigarette smoking and cancer? That guy?!

All stories by the usual assassins.....NY Times, Politico, et al

So we’re putting a crisis based on science in the hands of someone who doesn’t believe in science. Marvelous.

Honestly, we were in better hands when trump was directly in charge, and his solution was, “Stop talking about the coronavirus.”

We should put Obama in charge. He would tell China to "Cut it out". Such a masterful leader was he.

Trump just wants a firewall between him and this mess.

When the going gets tough, the tough punt.

I get the part about putting a matter of science in to the hands of someone who doesn't believe in science, but I think Pence is far more capable than the impeached POTUS at handling things that are just too important for the impeached imbecile to handle.

And Mike's just the kind of guy who would praise glory-be and give Trump all and any credit to any advances made on this issue, in the endless effort to praise the naked Emperor's clothing.

Trump really needs to put some distance between himself and the virus. Bull**** will only get him so far. And, bull****, is all Comrade Trump has to offer.

And Trump probably wouldn't have any problem let Pence fall on the sword for him if things go south. He can always just get a new VP running mate.

Good luck Mike.

Threads like this make me despair. The coronavirus now threatens the entire world and is no respecter or borders or partisan issues, and yet there are those who must channel their inner Alinskys.

I only half jokingly posted that question for that exact reason.

Don’t worry, you can just pray it away.

If you watch the announcement, Pence sounds and looks very presidential.

Just because he's religious, doesn't mean he can't do it. Up until a hundred years ago, everyone in the world was religious.

And they have a vaccine, though they said it will take a while to test.

And if you're not old, there isn't much to worry about.

We should put Obama in charge. He would tell China to "Cut it out". Such a masterful leader was he.

But that's not all he did. He put sanctions on Russia and would have done more but McConnell refused to back it. But you knew that.
