I'm watching the morning talking heads and they are saying all they are hearing from people is if bernie wins the nomination they're staying home.

Since bernie is at this moment a strong front-runner because people are voting for him, what are these folks talking about?

If bernie is still ahead after super tuesday will they still be saying the same thing?

Some folks just don't like bernie because he is the one person who says what he means and is willing to take the heat for what he says because he believes in what he says. Some folks talk and make promises to get votes. Bernie doesn't. He makes no bones about what he thinks.

I'll be early voting later today, for bernie. Take that you talking heads.

Is that it? If it is, trump is in dire straights. If young folks are turning out in numbers like that, look out gop.

Hi. It depends upon whom 'these people' are with respect to their political leanings.

Regards.

Well congrats on voting for who you believe is best and not who the DNC wants. The dems view Bernie as poison because they know he has a 0 chance of beating Trump. Thats pretty much why hes being villified by the left. IMO the best thing for dems is to run Bernie...he will obviously lose the general most likely in a landslide loss and then dems will be forced to choose more moderate candidates in 2024. Dems however cannot allow such a loss as it will validate Trump beyond any doubt therefore they have only one option....to shank Bernie. Out of all your candidates, I agree that Bernie is the most honest and true to hisbown beliefs. His problem is his beliefs dont match the majority of America.

Maybe those talking potato heads aren't talking to the right kind of people. Maybe they should talk to you.

On the other hand, maybe they are just making **** up.

Awww shucks, you say that about all the democrats running. Flirt.

Or like you they are doing nothing more than offering an opinion.

Or like you they are doing nothing more than offering an opinion.

Of course they are...and they get paid to offer the correct opinion.

The question is...why are you even listening to them?

I don't see how people who are serious "stay home" for the 2020 Election. I don't know who the talking heads are talking to and frankly if they are the News Channel talking heads, there is very little I trust that comes out of their mouths. When it comes to politics they are only interested in a dog pile on the carpet narrative and whatever supports such a thing is what prompts them to yammer on.

For information. Unlike some I don't take every word the talking heads say as god's word.

but WHY do you care what they think or say

you are your own person, and will make up your own mind

dont you feel everyone is like you?

or is that the issue...you dont think the general public is like you, and will listen to these idiots?

I said for information, not necessarily their opinion of the information. And no I do not feel like everyone is like me. If I did I would be a trump supporter.

An example of the New Channel talking head nonsense is their considering Bernie headed to Massachusetts, Warren's home state as a competitive move on Bernie's part. He is also headed to Amy's home state and while Amy has responded competitively, Liz has not.

Liz is obviously no longer running for the top spot on the ticket. It has likely been weeks since she has been running for the top spot on the ticket. In both the SC debate and in her CNN Town Hall that followed, her "distinctions" between her and Bernie were actually Liz pointing the the job of the VP, not the President! Those were the first distinctions between herself and Bernie she has been willing to make the entire campaign and they are distinctions that highlight the dif between the President's job and the VP's job. Liz is promoting herself as Bernie's VP choice.

While I am not so much of a snowflake that I can't handle it, it is somewhat disingenuous on both their parts (Liz and Bernie) to still be suggesting she is still a candidate for the top spot when she is in fact no longer running for the top spot. She is a candidate in name only. I suppose she is there if Bernie has another heart attack and there to continue to run interference for Bernie which is about the only thing she has done consistently for weeks now.

It feels like a last ditch effort on their part. It sounds a lot like the people claimed they wouldn't vote for Trump in 2016. When the general election comes along they'll vote for him. They're not going to risk 4 more years of Trump just to make a stupid point.

Set aside your partisan bias and explain why you do not see that Trump also won the republicant primary and went on to win the general election. Are those who say that they refuse to vote for Trump OK, yet those who say that they refuse to vote for Sanders not OK?

I think you need to realize that the Democratic Primaries where only Democrats vote and the general election where everyone can vote are two different things. They involve completely two different sets or types of people. Well, democrats can vote in both, but Republicans can't vote in the democratic primaries and most independents can't vote in the democratic primaries either unless they live in an open primary state.

As for Super Tuesday, it's the same thing. Only democrats are voting in their primaries, not Republicans nor independents for the most part. Sanders is at this point in time, just winning among democrats, not the American public as a whole. Just among one of three major factions. Say just a third of the total electorate.

Look at this way, Hillary Clinton was the choice of democrats in their primaries, she lost when all Americans could vote. Obama was the choice of the democrats in their primaries, he won when all Americans could vote. Gore and Kerry were the choice of democrats in their primaries, both lost when everyone could vote, etc. Being the choice of and receiving the most votes in the democratic primaries doesn't mean they will be the choice of all the people in November.

Following what the pundits state, me personally. I know I won't vote for Trump in November of 2020. Now that doesn't make me an automatic vote for the democrats either. That depends on who they nominate. I'd vote for Biden, Klobuchar, Gabbard against Trump. I would vote third party again if the democrats nominate Sanders or Warren like I voted against both Trump and Clinton in 2016. The rest, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, I haven't made up my mind. What this means is candidates matter to me. Not party, but candidates.

The primaries are one thing with one type of voter, just Democrats. The general election involves every type of voter, not only democrats, but everyone. There's your difference.

The only reason they are still in the running is to get enough primary delegates between them to prevent Bernie from winning the first convention vote. If they succeed, then the DNC Elites can make anyone THEY like the nominee...and it won't be Bernie.

A lot of current Tweetyborg also opposed King Tangface during the primary. Look at them now.

I doubt it. She is doing a rotten job of securing delegates. That is likely a side benefit but not one they are counting on. The tactical benefit of having her there is that she can run interference for Bernie, attacking Bloomy for no particular reason since attacking Bloomy holds no foreseeable benefit directly to Liz and feathering her nest for the VP spot on a possible if not now likely Bernie ticket.

Liz has also done a wonderful job of paralyzing the other candidates from making a concerted effort to attack front runner Bernie since Liz refuses to stay put so that the other candidates can reliably attack Bernie without making Liz collateral damage. The fact is the moderates in the Dem Party want the Left to be represented. So they did not want to knock out Liz and Bernie at the same time. Liz has been all over the political spectrum, first chasing Bernie Left then tacking back Right BEFORE she had won anything. Left, Right, Left Right. Where are you goin' Liz?

He doesn't say what he means. If he said what he meant, then his platform would reflect the label he calls himself.
