Basically. It comes down to the simple fact that the farther left they are, the higher taxes we all will pay. This includes you. The so called "moderates" will also inevitably raise everyone's taxes, but not quite as much.

Taxation should return to 1980 levels when the richest people were paying higher taxes. Since Reagan started the forty year spate of tax cuts, the tax burden has shifted increasingly to the middle and poorer classes.

Yeah, I mean, it's not like wealth has been drained out of the middle class and household purchasing power has been flat since the 70's while the 0.1% have aggregated all the wealth at the expense of the People. It all trickles down.

What happened to things like personal responsibility? What's so silly about wanting to raise taxes to where we're actually paying for what we spend ourselves, rather than leaving a bill for our descendants?

No, actually it doesn't. In fact, the majority of people who do see a tax increase will be the very liberals that voted for it.

DP leftists must be lower on the economic scale and not pay taxes. I'm middle class and the goddam leftists in Sacramento are always raising a tax here or one there and the people who pay for it are middle class. So I'm not sure where these DP leftist get their smoke from to blow up someone's ass. :shrug:

Congress critters of both parties have discovered the amazing political success (re-election rates of over 90%) by adopting borrow (from future generations) and spend (buy votes) now. Some call it "stimulus" and have decided to cut tax rates on "job creators" because of the sugar high (economic growth) which follows.

The promise by most on the left is now that federal spending can be at least doubled with only "the rich" being forced to pay their "fair share". That is normally followed with occasional mutterings about getting rid of past middle class "tax cuts" and "loopholes" as if that money never really belonged to those who earned it, since it rightly belonged to the federal government all along.
