Commerce Secretary Ross

At one time, Wilbur Ross was respected in the financial sector, then he joined the Trump administration and suddenly turned stupid. In my opinion the only thing that would boost any hope I have for this country is if Wilbur Ross contracted coronavirus and was put into isolation for 2 weeks as the global economy sky dived with a pandemic to deal with and old Wilbur laying up in isolation in a hospital bed twisting himself into a pretzel trying to kick his own ass for being such a fool.

“Every American’s heart has to go out to the victims of the coronavirus, so I don’t want to talk about a victory lap over a very unfortunate, very malignant disease.” (Wilbur's note to self -- kick own ass)

In defense of Trump's tariffs on China:

“This is a can of Campbell’s Soup. In the can of Campbell’s Soup there’s about 2.6 cents, 2.6 pennies worth of steel, so if that goes up by 25 percent, that’s about six-tenths of one cent on the price of Campbell’s Soup, who in the world is going to be too bothered by six-tenths of one cent?”

"According to data released this week by the United States Courts, family farmers filed 595 Chapter 12 bankruptcies in 2019, up from 498 filings a year earlier. The data also shows that such filings - known as “family farmer” bankruptcies - have steadily increased every year for the past five years."Jan 30, 2020 U.S. farm bankruptcies hit an eight-year high: court data - Reuters

That's who Wilbur, that's who.

Another glass half-full, silver lining kinda guy.

With as much as we subsidize pharma, and that US pharma makes up nearly half of that industry, good chance the US will come up with a vaccine and rake in the bucks. That could be some boost to the economy. Of course, the avg American never shares in a rising economy except to increase the likelihood of employment in a less than living-wage job. Our ever increasing GDP per capita and wealth gap proves that.

Even Mondera, who is just starting a small human trial, does not expect their vaccine to be available for at least a year...

Whoa! The farmers are really getting their asses kicked. Marone! :doh

At one time, Wilbur Ross was respected in the financial sector, then he joined the Trump administration and suddenly turned stupid.

Your first statement says it all. How is it that anyone who was admired by the left, becomes stupid over night, once they don't agree with Democrats or support a Trump administration decision?

Dershowitz became a constitutional fraud who doesn't know his ass from a hot rock
Comey became beloved overnight after 2 years of Democrats hating him
Ross is now stupid
Barr after 25 years of DC service and supported by all Democrats as the original AG became a criminal coverup for the president the day he took office
Pat Cipollone needs his license removed because he made an argument for Trump
Pam Bondi is a criminal liar
Bloomburg who is Trump 2.0 is the new hope of the Democrat party even with his illegal racist past and court room documented womanizing
Kavanaugh who has been in the DC world for over 20 years became an alcoholic high school serial rapist overnight
John Bolton hated by Democrats as a war monger who incites war for pleasure now became a trusted confidant and is of the highest caliber

Is it just me or are we starting to see a pattern here?

The Trump Cabinet member said businesses will have to consider the coronavirus when they review their supply chains, adding: “It’s another risk factor that people need to take into account, so I think it will help to accelerate the return of jobs to North America—some to the U.S., probably some to Mexico as well.”

Is there something in this quote that you want to dispute?

The fact is, this outbreak WILL harm China economically and it WILL become an economic advantage to the US and to North America. Ross is only being realistic.

Even Mondera, who is just starting a small human trial, does not expect their vaccine to be available for at least a year...
Yeah, I'm at a loss as to understand how Trump claimed we are "very close" to a vaccine? Trump is full of ****, here. I'm starting to feel like I need a vaccine from Trump!

Don't you feel confident that we can respond to this threat with such honest and intelligent leadership at the helm?

Are you assuming we won't experience it here?

Yeah, those economic boosts really have been kicking-in the last few days, Mycroft. Sure thing! This is like rationalizing cold war advantage over who could destroy themselves more times over.

Are you assuming we won't experience it here?

No, I am not assuming anything like that. But whether we do or not is irrelevant to the point that Ross made.

Here is the key to your pattern: #ETTD

No, I am not assuming anything like that. But whether we do or not is irrelevant to the point that Ross made.

Ross's statement was idiotic... What economic advantage do you think the spread of the virus in China will bring the US? Let me guess, millions of manufacturing jobs?

Yeah - the pattern you're seeing is from those that evaluate based upon daily policy via changing factual data, whereas some others go with a non-changing immutable allegiance (or opposition) to a person. I'll let you decide which is the better way to work your way through life, though it seems you've already expressed your beliefs.

Yes, of you putting out random **** hoping it will stick.

Since you are hard of reading, I'll present this quote one more time. If you don't get the point this time, you are dismissed. (see my sig)

Is that all you have? Snark?

He's using technicality here to avoid the obvious.

It's akin to the Cold War, where we could claim we were militarily superior because could destroy the U.S.S.R. a 100 times over, whereas they could only destroy us 37 times over. Therefore our firepower was superior. It's logical nonsense, of course ...

Fair enough, I will amend my statement... His statement was both idiotic and stupid... What business would plan their supply chains around events that happen so infrequently? Do pandemics only come from China? good lord... the amount of stupid is appalling... dismissed...

It's always interesting when an article in the Beast says things favorable to to the President. Admission against interest is that strongest evidence.

I have to go with Condor on this one. You disagree with the policy they are implementing, not the the person implementing the policy, yet you make it personal. Sometimes--Comey--it gets ridiculous.

The article in the Beast and the OP are about as favorable as left gets. Ross nailed it and he deserves credit.

Seriously? Chinese companies are closing. Their products are being delayed, at best. That means lost sales...lost revenue. Do you think businesses that depend on those products are just going to wait till this blows over? Not likely.

Are you assuming we won't experience it here?

not as hard, as long as we take measures to prevent CV from taking hold. I'm sure they are working on a vaccine now.

Where are they going to source their products? Here in the US?
