How capable is out healthcare system of handling a pandemic?

Democrats are dividing the country over an outbreak of a virus by criticizing and offering no answers, just criticism. Schumer is going to criticize Trump no matter what he does, and you simply cannot believe him. They have lied about money, a health care team working on the outbreak, our working with other countries including China, the lack of a plan. We have a plan in place at practically every hospital in America, there is a world wide plan always in place and always being updated in the event of an outbreak such as this. It's scare tactics. Watch and see how we handle this in the U.S. I hate to say wait and see but you will see we have a handle on how to deal with it.

One thing I do know FOR A FACT is that competence is important all the time but even more when unexpected problems arise. Competence can mean the difference between success and failure and in cases like the Corona Virus, it can be the difference between life and death to some.

To say "stuff happens" is being dismissive and flippant to what is a REAL problem and not just an election ploy. When Trump puts the safety of the nation second to his election odds, then you nave a man that doesn't belong as president and should be ousted immediately.

I should not be surprised at your post though, you have already shown on many other occasions total worship of Trump with no regard for the office of president and what it means and how it affects all people.

I wonder if you would react the same if your wife or your children suffered because of one of his decisions (or lack of them) affected them.

THe problem being that the previous cuts Trump's administration made to the CDC leaves us unprepared. So now we are trying to play catch up. We do not even have a test that works to see if people who are sick actually have the coronavirus. Getting rid of all things Obama may help Trump's ego, but some can be very bad for our nation. Our best hope is that the virus does not hit us hard.

Coronovirus, fortunately, does not seem to be any bigger of a problem than the flu virus. True, we now have vaccination for the flu virus but not Corona. But it's really a threat to the very old and very young or those with a compromised immune system. Everyone else just gets very sick for a while.

This is a good thing, because I really don't think Trump can actually handle any real crisis which may come up. He's just a reality TV actor who likes to play president on TV. Let's hope for the sake of this country that we don't have to deal with any actual crisis while he is still in office.

53 deaths outside of China since the Virus was first reported 4 weeks ago and compared to the Ebola crisis where 1529 deaths occurred outside of the infection area over a period of 39 years, means that an average of 4 deaths per month were occurring. With 53 deaths reported in just 1 month, we could be having a pandemic that is 15 times worse than the Ebola crisis.

As I said in another post, those who like nanny states think that mere humans are supposed to fully protect them from anything and everything that might happen. It is beyond absurd to think that Trump and his advisers aren't doing everything they know of to minimize the danger. A Monday morning QB can and will criticize ANY plan put forward.

Here Trump asked for 2 and a half billion and Chuckie said it wasn't enough. Here we have people that could die and speed is important ad Chuckie is delaying it because it's not enough???

Trump's Rowers are even worse and they'll still be here after Trump is gone.

The ordinary and very dangerous and deadly flu virus doesn't shut down the entire economy and financial markets of China which is what the coronavirus is doing there since it erupted massively by mid January. China GDP for 1Q is gone, vanished, disappeared and the China 1H economic data won't be any better even if the reversal is arrested along with the corona virus itself.

Italy's economy has hit a brick wall now because of the coronavirus and who knows for how long while South Korea is struggling.

Trump's incompetent stupidity will manage to muck this up in the United States and this is a virtual guarantee that makes no one happy regardless of politics. The coronavirus means death, suffering and a global economic meltdown once Trump and his Rowers get on their horses and ride 'em into the ground same as they do to everything they touch.

The number of cases in US I saw elsewhere is 57 cases.

Medical science says it's coming while it's noted the USA Superman-Lois Lane Syndrome has too many Americans led by the "****ing moron" Trump in a state of denial.

The number I used was from Feb 23. 19 at that time. I haven't seen the 37 number, but 9, 37. Not a pandemic, and so far nothing President Trump has increased the danger if their is a danger. Measures are being put in place, and I have no idea what's been put in place medically.

I've seen dozens of these end of the world crisis in my 82 years. So far, I'm still here. And so far, all these crisis have gone away. Could this be different? It could. Or not. They do seem to disappear with spring and people get out more.

One question, though, what exactly should President Trump be doing?
