The White House is expected to request funds from Congress this week—but its disorganized response, and past cuts, may have complicated efforts to tackle the crisis.

Let's call it what it is, folks: gross incompetence meeting chickens coming home to roost. While the morons in the White House fired everyone with brains to bring in their yes men to focus on the stupid wall, SHTF.

as the virus spreads across the globe, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran, the WHO is cautioning that the world could be caught flat-footed in the face of a mounting crisis. In the U.S., those concerns have been exacerbated by the Trump administration, which had been reluctant to request additional money from Congress to deal with the deadly disease, despite Democratic demands they do so. White House officials expressed hopes that the “virus would burn itself out by the summer,” according to Politico, speculation that it is more concerned about the image it is projecting than preventing an outbreak at home. “They don’t want to make it a bigger thing,” one senior Democratic aide told the outlet recently.
So, all we have are thoughts and prayers.

No. It's even worse.

We got nadda.

Even if Congress provides additional funding, there remain fears that the Trump administration has already hamstrung it’s ability to address this emergency. As Foreign Policy’s Laurie Garrett wrote last month, the administration has “intentionally rendered itself incapable” of dealing with a problem of this scale. It wiped out its “entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure,” Garrett wrote, and shut down the National Security Council’s global health security team, as well as its counterpart in the Department of Homeland Security. In addition to proposing funding cuts for national and global health programs, the administration has also kneecapped its public health teams by declining to replace officials who have left. While the president established a Coronavirus Task Force led by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar last month, “it’s not clear how it will function,” Garrett noted—essentially forcing the administration to “[resort] to improvisation” in its approach to the crisis.

Now, we are ****ed.

Thanks, Putin.

More baseless Democrat fear-mongering.

By the time this actually IS over in April?

They'll be onto some new (or rerun) hysterical/attention seeking doomsday scenario.

Impossible to take Democrats seriously since 2016.

Hogwash... Just one more thread that is over top screaming about bad Trump. The CDC has been working this issue since 2-1-2020
But never mind, keep up with the mindless posts.:3oops:

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) | CDC

Background

CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and which has now been detected in 37 locations internationally, including cases in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).

On January 30, 2020, the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concernexternal icon” (PHEIC). On January 31, 2020, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II declared a public health emergency (PHE) for the United States to aid the nation’s healthcare community in responding to COVID-19.

Situation in U.S.

Imported cases of COVID-19 in travelers have been detected in the U.S. Person-to-person spread of COVID-19 also has been seen among close contacts of returned travelers from Wuhan, but at this time, this virus is NOT currently spreading in the community in the United States.

The potential public health threat posed by COVID-19 is high, both globally and to the United States.

But individual risk is dependent on exposure.

For the general American public, who are unlikely to be exposed to this virus at this time, the immediate health risk from COVID-19 is considered low.
Under current circumstances, certain people will have an increased risk of infection, for example healthcare workers caring for patients with COVID-19 and other close contacts of persons with COVID-19. CDC has developed guidance to help in the risk assessment and management of people with potential exposures to COVID-19.

However, it’s important to note that current global circumstances suggest it is likely that this virus will cause a pandemic. In that case, the risk assessment would be different.

The Trump administration announced Monday night that it will ask Congress for "at least $2.5 billion" in additional funding to fight the coronavirus.

It was inevitable that the incompetence of this administration would cost lives.

A talking head who seems to know what she was talking about said thhat the prercentage of those who get the coronavirus is higher 2%, than those who died of the 1918 flu epidemic which was 1.8% If this gets lose in this country, a lot of people will die and some of the fault lies with Trump's actions taken against the CDC and the plan instituted by Obama.

There is no denying it.

But, the Trumpers will try.

Not enough. Just ask Nancy. All Trump roads already lead to Russia.

It’s not enough.

"We need more swamp!!! Don't drain us!!!"

Because flu.

Bookmark this thread, folks:

When this is over in April, no one will take responsibility for baseless fear-mongering yet AGAIN.

I see the usual, deny deny deny, then change the subject, coming from the Trump team.

It's all they got.

Has anybody caught the stock ticker today? The Bulls desperately trying to hold on. Started the day up 300+ in the Dow. Lost all 300+ and then spiked to 100+. Slumping back again. At some point today the Bulls are likely going to run out of horsepower.

Stay tuned!

I think it is amuzing to a degree. Nutjob leftists making grandiose claims that never materialize. When have they actually been right about anything since 2016? This constant, 24/7, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! crap is old. People don't even pay attention to these nutters on the left anymore.

My best advice for the kookers on the left is, if you are that frightened of the ChiCom Flu, bend over and kiss your silly asses goodbye.

Under Nancy and Chuck's leadership, it disgusts me that they, and their media rodeo clowns, are now exploiting a possible coronavirus pandemic by spreading manure with their hideous fear-mongering meant only to take their shots at the president. What haven't these leftist fools tried to politicize?

Congress has the power to pass a funding bill to deal with the Corona virus outbreak at any time. They could pass a stand alone bill by the end of the week. What are they waiting on?

Another Rush enthusiast I see.

All Trump had to do was sound like he had a brain as opposed to always trying to make excuses for himself from jump st. But as usual DonDon the Oblivious just can't do it.

It’s interesting that this post puts so much credence in the article from vanity fair, the hamstrung analogy is just silly as is the partisan with the Hate -Trump tone of the whole article.

I’m curious, since when does replacing or reducing the past administrations appointments with bureaucrats hamstring the current administration. Let’s keep in mind, it will be privately owned US labs that will come up with a vaccine. It’s also worth noting that throwing billions at the World Health Organization (WHO) Isn’t going to solve anything here in the US, yes there mission statement is great on paper but any real impact on this pandemic won’t come from them.
