Live Thread for the SC Democratic Presidential Debate

I would say being the mayor of New York City is more experience than being a senator.

Senators don't have to make sure the snowplows are running.

Man, Bloomberg taking credit for life expectancy increments in NY; absolute clown.

plus that asshole diss'd my buddy the Naked Cowboy!. A Cincinnati Native who was one of the best servers in the history of the now defunct Tri Country TGIF.

It's an excellent point. Why should we punish the bottom 80% to benefit the top 20%?

Typical Republican garbage propaganda about 'punish'. Hint: programs that include the 1% only have 1% go to them.

Kloubachar with an excellent point about why we shouldn't tax the poor to give free education to the wealthy.

the wealthy pay for most of the educational institutions in the country

He'll pick a moderate like Klobuchar or Buttigieg. Bernie already has support of the left wing.
Klobuchar might help bring in the Midwest. Usually, the top of the ticket takes the high road in acting Presidential and positive, and the veep plays the attack dog. With these two, it would be the opposite! Actually, I'd like Pamela Harris as Bernie's veep.

I remember Mike driving the snowplow...

'Experience' is less important than skills, values, policies.

Bernie isn't the usual.

The only adult? With all the lame jokes and zingers she had last week, and no substance in policies?

There's a reason why she is polling in single digits.

Klobuchar is by far the most competent Senator when it comes to ... enacting Policy into law, unlike the post offices by bernie.

Bloomberg once again rehashing why he's a dinosaur with out of touch and defunct stances on marijuana.

Then on top of everything else Bloomy can't deliver a punch line.

"Who knew comedy could be so hard".

Sorry, couldn't help myself. It was just hanging there.
:lamo

He does pretty much suck in his delivery, I must admit.

Warren doing very poorly, appearing again like the unlikable annoying electric chipmunk.

Agree, they should cut her mic when she doesn't stop jabbering past her time limit.

This is crazier than normal crazy Bernie.

LOL

"Alright, thank you vice president Biden" >hurriedly cuts to break.

Hilarious.

I'd rather Bernie say Marijuana can harm people AND he supports legalizing it, and maybe more on why to legalize it, but he's doing ok on the topic, being out front.

This debate has the best chance of Biden challenging someone to his push up contest. Man I hope he does it would be fitting to cap off this debate with that as the final question/challenge.

Warren's voice seems extra whinny tonight like ahe could bust out in tears at any second.

I disagree; I think Integrity's take is exactly correct: Buttigieg is a master of saying much of nothing, and he unfortunately doesn't know how to do much else besides be disingenuous.

It’s no surprise you agree with a trump supporter against a REAL Democrat.

A good point about him - he's used to being the Boss in the room, and having everyone genuflect to that.
Oh, I have no doubt he is perhaps the best qualified to lead the country. None at all.

This is crazier than normal crazy Bernie.

You don't understand the benefit of actually supporting your opinion with facts or examples?

A vice president can usually give you their state, so picking someone from a swing state is a good strategy.

He has a lot better idea than the corporatists you like. Why am I not surprised.

Actually he doesn't. Being a nice guy doesn't mean you have a clue what you should or would be doing from the WH. That congressional term limits comment was telling especially within the context of the rest of his campaign spiel. His place is in private life, using his money for grassroots efforts for change. Its what he does well. He has no clue what he should be doing from the Oval. Just as Warren's spot is a cabinet secretary for some President or another.

I don't know where Bloomy belongs....I would say he belongs at the top of a ticket for the remnants of the old Republican Party since the T-Party has taken over. Amy is the perfect Senator. That is all I have to say about her.

Three people actually belong on that stage. Mayor Pete, Biden and Bernie. Thats it. If I had to pick a 4th it would be Bloomy (God help me). The rest need to get out of the way for the good of the party.

Finally, moderators stepping up and doing their job; long overdue.

Three other moderators joined the two incompetent ones. The CBS station execs must have said, oh gosh this is a disaster, we need to send some people there to take over.

Neither do mayors. Or presidents for that matter.
